Snake Hound Machine Advanced Combat Targets

Snake Hound Machine (SHM) has partnered with Down Range Firearms Training and Dstein Dzigns to create the Advanced Combat Targets. The design has several features including a typical silhouette style target overlaid with an anatomical diagram. The anatomy component of the target makes it useful for more than hole punching with your firearm of choice. The target can also be used for the lecture component of a shooting course or first aid class. It also has some of the slick branding that you have come to expect from SHM.

Henry Holsters AIWB Foldover Holster

There is a new AIWB (appendix inside the waistband) holster on the market. Our friend and Hoosier Kydex bender extraordinaire, Henry Holsters, has created this new holster with a host of slick features.

Henry Holster AIWB Foldover

It looks like a simple foldover style holster because… well, it is. However, that simple appearance belays a very cool feature that is only apparent when you take a closer look. The holster has a sort of ramped protrusion on the back (the part against the wearer) that Henry Holsters calls a “Multi-angle Kick” that pushes the muzzle out slightly which in turn draws the grip in to improve concealment. The AIWB Foldover also features 2 flexible Pull-the-Dot snap belt loops and a large sweat guard that is cut to allow a full firing grip.

It is available for the Glock 17/22. Longer holsters tend to work bettet to anchor an AIWB holster and better with the Multi-angle Kick, so this same holster will be used for the Glock 19/23 and 26/27 as well.

Chiappa LITTLE BADGER

Most Chiappa products don’t really interest me but I am a sucker for survival rifles like the Chiappa LITTLE BADGER. The LITTLE BADGER reminds me of the now discontinued and heavily collectable M6 survival rifles that Springfield Armory used to import except the LITTLE BADGER is even more spartan in its design.

Chiappa-Little-Badger

The LITTLE BADGER comes with a halfway decent set of adjustable iron sights. In addition to the sights, you can mount optics to the “handguard” which is little more than 4 rails at the breech end of the barrel. It has a very minimalist wire stock and the entire rifle folds down to a roughly 16.5″ long package. The barrel is threaded for suppressor use. It is fairly light but still heavier than I would expect at 3.5 pounds according to the Chiappa website.

Minimalist .22LR rifles that are geared toward the survival market draw me like a moth to flame. The LITTLE BADGER, with it’s sub-$170 retail price, is affordable enough that it might not hurt too badly if I do get sucked in.

Review: Men’s Toy Shop – Nashville, IN

There is more than just fried biscuits and apple butter in Nashville, Indiana!

Mens Toy Shop

Nashville is kind of like Indiana’s version of Gatlinburg, Tennessee. It is a small resort town that is thick with gift shops, local craftsmen, and artist galleries. It is the kind of place that husbands usually dread spending the weekend but endure for the sake of their wives. Thankfully, Men’s Toy Shop is waiting right there on Van Buren Street, the main drag through town, shining like a beacon of manliness and an oasis for weary, shopping battered men.

When you walk into the shop, you are immediately greeted with the rich smell of hundreds of premium cigars and the pipe tobacco varieties that they carry. I don’t know much about pipes and cigars but I do enjoy them occasionally. I would have paid more attention to the tobacco but I was too busy checking out several glass cases of knives, flashlights, and ammo.

If you read this blog, you will love the inventory at this shop. They carry knives from manufacturers like Pro-Tech, Benchmade, ESEE, Spyderco, TOPS, Zero Tolerance, Calico Forge, and more. They have folders, automatics, fixed blades, and even some butterfly knives. They also had Wise food storage products, premium self defense ammunition, Surefire flashlights and Mil-Spec Monkey patches. They even had Magpul PMAGS and Surefire 60 round magazines at prices that were competitive with online prices.

If all that isn’t enough, they had cool stuff like gun related t-shirts, trench knife letter openers, titanium money clips, cologne that didn’t smell fruity or have words like “sport” in their name, lighters, Col. Conk shaving gear, and more. I am just scratching the surface of what is in this shop. In fact, I have noticed several things in the pictures that I didn’t notice while I was there! This is the kind of shop that you can lose yourself in for an hour before you even realize it.

I found the idea of tobacco shop combined with a knife/gear shop almost irresistible. The folks behind the counter were as friendly and helpful as can be, the merchandise was awesome, and the prices were competitive. There are so many shops that carry junk knives in Nashville. It was truly refreshing to drop into Men’s Toy Shop and see a range of quality knives. I had an absolute blast and highly suggest that you stop into Men’s Toy Shop if you find yourself anywhere near Nashville, IN.
