ASP-C Carrier and SAP-C Plates from US PALM

US PALM has dropped the new ASP-C Carrier with SAP-C Plates. The carrier features 500D nylon construction with simple side straps for a low profile and light weight. It has PALS webbing coverage on both the front and back plate pocket along with front and rear loop material on the upper part of the plate pocket. The plate pockets and shoulder pads are cushioned with spacer mesh.

The SAP-C plates are SAPI cut, single curve 10×12 plates that are level IV (stand alone) rated. They feature ceramic/steel hybrid construction with foam for drop protection and sealed edges.

The ASP-C with 2 SAP-C plates weighs 16 pounds together. You can buy the entire set up together at Harris Tactical.

Morale Patches for Kids?

In this industry, morale patches are traded like business cards. Recently, I came across a company called Gutzy Gear that is banking on “morale” patches catching on with kids, too.

Gutzy Gear makes sleeves that can be attached to a pack strap and a full line of patches that attach to the sleeves. They even make some patches that I suspect a lot of you might appreciate, like licensed Marvel superheros.

My kids love all the patches that I have accumulated so it hard to imagine that kids wouldn’t love this concept. What do you think? Can morale patches successfully bridge the gap from tactical backpack to school backpack?

 

Smarter Every Day Shoots an AK Underwater… Again!

Watch as Destin and crew shoot an AK underwater and capture it all on high speed cameras. The footage at the 4:30 mark is stunningly beautiful and Destin’s break down of the various stages of gas escaping the barrel is absolutely fascinating. I refuse to learn any science unless it has AKs and high speed video from now on.

Primary Arms 1-6×30 Scope with ACSS Reticle

Primary Arms has shown an ability to bring a solid optic to market at a reasonable price. Their optics are especially popular on training carbines where you may not want to spend top dollar on the exact same optics to match your go-to carbine. Their most recent announcement, a 1-6×30 optic for just $250, is sure to find its way onto a carbine near you.

Primary Arms 1-6X ACSS

It will feature what Primary Arms is calling the ACSS reticle. The ACSS incorporates bullet drop compensation, range estimation, wind, and leads. The reticle is illuminated and located in the second focal plane. See the video below for more information about the reticle.

This optic will be available with a number of optional accessories like mounts, scope caps, and mini reflex optic mounts.
