Media Lab is a new web series from the NRA in which Dom Raso breaks down the tactics and combatives of popular films. In the first episode, Dom takes on the “boss fight” from Jack Reacher. He highlights how stupid it is to throw away your gun which… duh. Then explains the movements, points out what’s BS and what’s smart, and shows the way he might actually execute certain elements of the fight.

The two newest items from ROSCH Works, the TM1 and the SLM1, are now available to be purchased from their site.
The TM1 is a light mount that clamps to a shotgun magazine tube or, with the addition of optional shims, to an AR-15 barrel. It uses just one screw to mount to the barrel and retain the light. The TM1 is designed to work with 1″ tube diameter lights like the Surefire Fury.
The SLM1 is a light mount with integrated front sight. It is also designed to accept 1″ diameter lights like the Surefire Fury. This is a concept that AR-15 shooters have been waiting for since the advent of rails that extend over a low-profile gas block. I am working on a review of the SLM1 and, spoiler alert, it is excellent. You can read some of my initial thoughts in an earlier post. ROSCH Works is already working on a version for the Surefire E-Series lights.

Katylist loaded a bunch of new deals onto their site recently including one of the best ballistic plate deals you’ll find anywhere. They put their LTC Level IV Stand-Alone Shooters Cut plates on sale for $139. These are 9.9″ x 11.9″ single curve plates that weigh in at 8.25 lb each. They have a painted finish which helps keep the cost down and should be sufficient for those who aren’t wearing them daily.
I have already written about what a great value SIONICS Weapon Systems barrels are. Now they are introducing a new 11.5″ barrel and I have no doubt it will be excellent.
The new 11.5″ barrels will be made from 4150 CMV Steel with a proper 5.56 chamber. The barrel extension has M4 feed ramps. Unlike their current 16″ barrel which has a 1 in 8″ twist rate, this new 11.5″ barrel will have a 1 in 7″ twist. It goes through all the same quality checks that you have come to expect from SIONICS including individual X-ray and MP testing. These barrels weigh in at 1 lb, 6 oz.
They will be offered with your choice of chrome lining or Melonite processing and your choice of gas block options including a fixed FSB, low profile gas block, and no gas block. The stripped barrels will start at $189.95.
They are already in hand at SIONICS and will be available on their site next week.
