New from Snaggletooth Tactical – The Engagement Ring

Snaggletooth Tactical’s new Engagement Rings are now available. This is a simple and inexpensive way to add a deployment ring to some popular knives for Snaggletooth Tactical’s popular wave mods.

The Engagement Ring is basically a small machined stud that can be installed on the barrel/spacers of the Ontario RAT I and II or the Benchmade Bugout series. Once the stud is installed, it can accept a split ring (provided).

The video below shows how this works but basically, the ring can be hooked with a finger while deploying the knife. Smaller knives don’t always provide a lot of surface to grip when they are clipped deep in your pocket which leads to people weakly pinching the end of the knife as they try to execute a waved opening. The ring provides a more positive anchor to grip when deploying the knife.

The Engagement Ring is available the Ontario RAT I, RAT II, and the Benchmade Bugout series. The user can select a anodized black or blue stud and a black or silver split ring.

Speedbox Launches Endurance-70

Speedbox has released their new Endurance-70, an updated replacement for the Voyager-70. The new Endurance-70 makes the improved, updated features of the Endurance-40 available in a larger, 70 gallon size.

The new Endurance-70 has large, no-flat tires and a milled aluminum handle to allow easy transport. The handle is attached to the body via steel plates to ensure it never stresses the rotomolded polymer construction. It also has two steel locking plates for use with padlocks (padlocks not included).

The lid is secured via two side-mounted cam locks that help pull the lid against a large water-resistant gasket. The Endurance-40 that I own and reviewed has the same camming lid and gasket setup and it survived a trip down a creek without water ingress.

The Endurance-70 is optimized for the same 463-L pallet as the original Voyager-70. However, the Endurance-70 features improved stacking and locking functionality and more lift points.

Forward Controls Design CSR (Compact Sectional Rods)

USGI cleaning rods are great for dislodging stuck cases in AR-15s but they can be a little bit of a pain to carry on your gear. Sure, you can usually find a place to stash them but the length of the standard rods prevents them from being carried in common pouches that would typically be found on, for instance, a belt.

The new Compact Sectional Rods (CSR) from Forward Controls Design fixes that. Each section of the CSR is 4.8″ long which allows them to be stored in something as short as a pistol pouch or even the battery storage of some buttstocks.

The machined 17-4 PH steel sections are available in kits with varying numbers of sections based on barrel length. All kits include a brass jag for use with cleaning patches and a soft case is available as an option.
