Domari Nolo Outfitters released a video (below) that shows how an Ares Armor Combat XII Pack can be integrated with UW Gear Chest Rigs. They use the MEC version of the Combat XII Pack from PredatorARMAMENT and the UW Gear Swampfox MKII chest rig but this should work with any version of either product.

The combination of the Combat XII Pack and Swampfox MKII chest rig offers some nice functionality. The Swampfox MKII is a split front chest rig, so the entire set up can be donned and doffed like a vest. The Combat XII Pack gives the wearer the ability to carry up to 6 spare magazine, 2 hydration bladders, and more. The integration of the 2 items looks very seamless. This is an impressive combo!

UW Gear Adds PenCott Webbing

UW Gear just placed an order for the new Hyde Definition PenCott Webbing (PredatorBDU blog has the details on the new webbing). This printed webbing will now be standard on all their PenCott camo chest rigs. I can tell you that this webbing matches the patterns very well in my limited experience with the Badlands pattern. UW Gear had a sample of the webbing that they used on an AK Swampfox MKII that I ordered.

I also ordered a Ranger Green Minuteman MKII with Coyote Brown pull tabs and I am really happy with how it turned out. UW Gear used Coyote Brown hardware and stitching which makes for a very attractive color combo. The contrasting color makes the pull tabs easier to see.

Triple Magazine Shingles from UW Gear

triple1-u5144Triple Magazine Shingles are now available from UW Gear. They have made the singles and doubles for a while now and I have been pestering them to make triples the entire time. They finally relented – probably just so they didn’t have to listen to me anymore.

These Triple Magazine Shingles use the same innovative flap retention system for which UW Gear is now known. The 3 magazine format is perfect for the front of a plate carrier (most of which have 6×3 fields of PALS webbing on the lower front). They are available for the AR-15/M4/M-16, AK-47, and AK-74 and they come in a ton of different color options.

I have become a big fan of the PenCott family of patterns from Hyde Definition. UW Gear recently made a special order chest rig in the PenCott Snowdrift pattern. UW Gear’s chest rigs and pouch designs tend to really show off camo patterns since they do not have webbing on the front of the pouches. This particular Minuteman MKII Chest Rig was special ordered with matching Snowdrift printed webbing and matching hardware. You just don’t see much gear made in snow camo but I think it looks really sharp. Check out UWGearInc.com.
