What happens when you eat, sleep, and breathe camo patterns and you also happen to practice martial arts? You commission a custom PenCott Badlands gi or at least that is what John from UW Gear did. This gi is amazing but it is a one-off custom job that will not be available for purchase through UW Gear.

UW Gear Bandoleer Updates
John at UW Gear posted a video to share some of what they are doing to shorten lead times and to showcase some waist strap updates they are making to their popular UW Gear Bandoleer.
Custom UW Gear Chest Rig
Many of you may already be familiar with EveryCitizenASoldier.org. It is a great site that advocates preparedness for all citizens. A user that goes by Currahee or Excurrahee, who is the owner of the site, recently commissioned a great looking custom chest rig from UW Gear.
The rig is configured to hold 3 AR-15 magazines. The magazine pouches feature the proven tab closure that all UW Gear Chest Rigs have but the flaps are slightly redesigned with a more rounded shape. This rig also has 2 large general purpose pouches in place of the PALS webbing that is usually found on these rigs. The general purpose pouches also feature the tab closure system which is the first time I have seen this closure system on anything other than a magazine pouch in wild.
I don’t think UW Gear is able to take much custom work these days but you can check out their production offerings at UWGearInc.com.
UW Gear Camo Testing
The guys are UW Gear aren’t content to just tell you how a certain camo pattern works. They are constantly testing new patterns and they often post informative pictures and videos of those tests on their forum so you can get an idea of how they work (or at least how they work in UW Gear’s area). These threads can also be a great place to spot cool gear that may eventually find its way to the UW Gear line up like the Digital Woodland and AOR2 Minuteman MKII Chest Rigs shown below.
Check out UWGearInc.com and visit their forum for tons of great gear and prepping related info.
UW Gear and PenCott GreenZone
UW Gear just posted this image of one of their Minuteman MKII chest rigs in the Hyde Definition PenCott GreenZone pattern. The rig makes use of the new PenCott printed webbing (except for the pull tabs on the flaps which contrast for visibility). The PenCott family of patterns continues to grow on me every time I see them.
