When I saw that Aero Precision began offering their own AR-15 barrels, I figured it was only a matter of time before they offered their own complete rifles. Not to toot my own horn, but I was right. They recently let the cat out of the bag with an image of one of their upcoming carbines that features their COP upper, lower receiver, and new M4 barrel. I will share more detailed specs when I have them.
Kydex guru PHLster makes a sheath for the Ka-Bar TDI that is very popular. Demand for the sheath has outpaced his ability to produce them since their introduction. PHLster has been working to streamline production of the sheath in an effort to increase the rate at which they can be created. The good news is that they have succeeded.
The original sheath was foam pressed and had a curved shape to it that made it hand specific. The new version is now vacuum formed and has a flat shape that makes it ambidextrous and more user configurable. the result of these changes is a sheath that has the same level of quality but can be produced more easily. Many users are also reporting that the new flat shape is actually more comfortable too.

Laser training aids like those from Next Level Training can be an effective training and demonstration tool because of the enhanced feedback that they provide over regular dry fire practice. However, that feedback is fleeting. The laser indicator flashes only briefly and it provides no way to retain the feedback for analysis at a later time. That is where Laser Activated Shot Recorder or LASR comes in.
LASR is software that works on a Windows PC in conjunction with a webcam to capture your laser “hits” and display them on a virtual version of your target. The information about your speed and accuracy can be retained and used to track progress over time. LASR has various shot timing functions and can be used to track hits on multiple targets and multiple shooters. It basically gives you the tools you need to turn dry fire practice into something that is repeatable and reproducible.
This is definitely an interesting training tool that seems to have a lot of potential. It will be interesting to see what people are able to do with it.

The Monkey has some good ideas. The new MSM Shear Pouch Plus takes a pretty standard shear pouch and adds the useful functionality of a tourniquet holder. This allows the user to carry two items that often do not fit inside smaller IFAKs in a compact and efficient manner (takes up just 1 column of PALS webbing).

Diamondhead just released their new compensator, the T-Brake. I have no context for how it performs but it is noteworthy for how it looks. I don’t usually major on aesthetics on JTT. I generally prefer to talk features, benefits, and performance. However, in this case, I really like how Diamondhead took design cues from their VRS-T rails and incorporated them into this comp. That shows excellent attention to detail.
