IWC KeyMod Bipod MOUNT-N-SLOT

Impact Weapons Components just released their very compact KeyMod Bipod MOUNT-N-SLOT. This small stud has no fasteners to come loose, weighs next to nothing, and has almost no footprint on its own. You simply place it on your KeyMod compatible rail and then use your bipod’s integral clamping mount to attach the bipod to the stud.

Check out the KeyMod Bipod MOUNT-N-SLOT at Impact Weapons Components and use code “triggerjerk” for 5% off your order.

Wilson Combat and Ernest Langdon Create Drool Worthy Beretta 92s

If there is a man who you can trust to know how to make the Beretta 92 sing, it is Ernest Langdon. He is well known for his long time (and long discontinued) custom work on Berettas and his winning ways in competition shooting with Beretta handguns. I was fortunate to purchase several parts from him back when I owned a Beretta 92 that I picked up for a song back in my college days (I miss that gun). Wilson Combat can certainly be trusted to execute that vision.

Given the names who are involved, I was very excited to see on Pistol-Training.com that Ernest Langdon was acting as an adviser to the folks at Wilson Combat as they introduced new custom parts and services for the Beretta 92. Now if I could just scare up a good deal on a Beretta Vertec 92G to send in for some custom work, I would be a happy man.

JAVRAN Kit Bag

Some of my favorite bags for hauling gear are the old surplus USGI Flyer’s Kit Bags. Their cube shape makes it possible to pack a ton of gear in an easy to pack, easy to handle package. I was quite happy with the surplus one that I have been using for years to go to and from the range until I saw the new JAVRAN Kit Bag…

JAVRAN Kit Bag Front

The Kit Bag from JAVRAN has obvious roots in the original surplus bags. You can see it in the cube shape and the wrap around handles. However, the JAVRAN version takes everything about the venerable old kit bag to the next level.

It features a 6 column x 4 row PALS webbing field on the front and back of the bag. The webbing used in the PALS field is 4 different colors to match the colors found in the Woodland camo material used in the construction of the bag. JAVRAN also incorporated loop Velcro fields in the same 4 color scheme.

JAVRAN Kit Bag End Pouches

The ends of the bag feature external pockets for organizing small gear. One end features a simple slip pocket and the other end has a slip pocket with a small zippered slash pocket.

The handles wrap all the way under the back like the handles found on the original bags. However, the JAVRAN handles are padded for comfort.

JAVRAN Kit Bag Interior

The interior of the JAVRAN Kit Bag boasts a ton of organization potential. The interior is fully lined with pack clothe for additional durability and water resistance. One side features a large loop Velcro field for adding Velcro backed pouches. The opposite side features an admin area with multiple small zippered pouches for organizing small items. Each end also features a mesh zippered pouch.

My old kit bag suddenly feels very inadequate!

Rainier Arms Compensator RAC

Rainier Arms has a solid track record of developing affordable muzzle devices with very solid performance like the XTC. They are looking to continue that hot streak with the introduction of the Rainier Arms Compensator (RAC).

Rainier Arms Compensator RAC

The RAC has two large chambers with ports on each side (4 side ports) and 2 small top ports on each chamber (4 top ports). Rainier Arms states that the large side ports are designed to reduce felt recoil while the top ports counteract muzzle rise. As you have come to expect from anything that comes from Rainier Arms, the device also looks quite good. It has a distinctive angled cut on the front that gives it a unique look.

Specs:

  • .223 / 5.56 (1⁄2 X28 TPI)
  • Length: 2.3 Inches
  • Diameter: .890 Inches
  • Weight: 2.6 oz
  • Finish: Black Nitride
  • Made in the USA

Back T.A.S.K. from Fight and Flight Tactical

When Dave at Fight and Flight Tactical announced the new Back TASK on his Facebook Page, he said “The Back T.A.S.K. reaches around so your buddy doesn’t have to…” I just… I don’t even… What?

fight flight back task

Seriously though, double entendre aside, the Back TASK is just like the regular TASK but with the addition of paracord loops that make it easier to scrub your own back. Basically, it is a pouch made from spacer mesh that is sized to fit a typical bar of soap and it has loops that let you wrap it around your back to scrub. It might even fit your froo-froo organic lavender honey goat’s milk soap but if you use that kind you are probably more interested in the original TASK (see the first paragraph).

I suppose you could also use the paracord to swing your Back TASK around like a flail which could revolutionize the “blanket party.”
