MSM Bottle Corset

There are a ton of different water bottles on the market and you are like me, you have accumulated several of them over the years. it can be a real pain in the rear to find a good solution for carrying all of them so you end up with bottles that you either don’t use because you lack a decent pouch for them or you have to keep them somewhere that is less than ideal – like buried in your pack. If that sounds familiar, Mil-Spec Monkey is about to make your day with the Bottle Corset.

The MSM Bottle Corset is the most adjustable bottle holder that I have seen. I have had one in hand for a few weeks and I haven’t found a bottle that it won’t fit. I have used it with several different sizes and shapes of Nalgene bottles, several sizes of Camelbak Better Bottles, and even the throw-away 20 ounce bottles that you get at the store.

The Bottle Corset makes good use of shock cord so that it is extremely adjustable and flexible. It is adjustable for depth and also features a retainer cord that can be configured a number of different ways. It is MOLLE compatible and mounts via the included MALICE clips.

This pouch is versatile enough to be used to store 2 magazines in pinch. However, care should be taken because the pouch will lose tension once one of the magazines is removed.

Blind Horse Knives August 2013 Special

This month’s special from Blind Horse Knives (BHK) is the Batwing Pro. The original BHK Batwing was a very compact EDC/self defense ring knife. This new Batwing Pro is a karambit that is still very compact but large enough to offer a full grip. It is ground from 1/8″ D2 steel. There are no handle slabs to keep the knife slim and easy to carry. Speaking of easy to carry, the Batwing Pro comes with a Kydex sheath so you can drop it on your belt as soon as you receive it.

Check out the Batwing Pro at BHK.

Echo Nine Three SpecMod Stock Set for AKMs

Warning: Go get a napkin or something to wipe your drool. Echo Nine Three has been working for nearly 2 years to create the SpecMod Stock Set – a stock set for AKMs that provides modern features and ergonomics with a purist appearance.

E93 SpecMod Stock Set Stock

The stock features a triangular cheek piece (similar to a SOPMOD stock for an AR-15) that is adjustable for height via shims. It can be adjusted low enough to use with iron sights and high enough for use with optics. It features a rubber recoil pad to take the edge off recoil and an improved toe in angle for increase contact area with the shoulder.

The fore grip is available in two different versions. The regular version features a shortened version of the Romanian “G” vertical grip (AKA the Donkey Dong). The vertical grip is shortened enough to provide plenty of clearance for mag changes but still provide enough grip to work with a modern thumb forward grip. Optionally, you can choose a standard AKM hand guard with no vertical grip.

The pistol grip is very similar to a standard wood AKM grip except it has been enlarged to better fill the hand.

The SpecMod Stock Sets are hewn from birch laminate and then finished with a “Russian Red” finish. These stock sets are manufactured by Ironwood Designs to Echo Nine Three’s spec. They fit AKM pattern rifle (stamped receivers) and may require some fitting.

Now you don’t have to choose between functionality and good looks! Check out the Echo Nine Three SpecMod Stock Sets.

RE Factor Tactical Pelican Case Insert Combination

If you use a Pelican case to transport your rifles, pay close attention to the next several sentences and pry your credit card out of your wallet in advance because this is really, really cool. RE Factor Tactical has created the Pelican Case Insert Combination which is essentially a PALS webbing/loop Velcro covered panel that can be secured in the top lid of your case.

The panel replaces the top level of foam. It can easily be swapped for the foam since it is mounted via large Velcro strips. These panels add a ton of organization potential to a case that has no organization features on its own. This looks pretty handy.
