The front attachment point is a UWL which is a great way to attach a modern sling to the AK’s forward sling loop. It is also great for south paws because it can be fixed to the sling loop and passed between the barrel and gas tube to move the sling over to the ejection port side of the AK.

Blue Force Gear Belt Mounted Pouches – Now Available

Blue Force Gear’s (BFG) new line of belt mounted pouches are now available. These pouches leverage BFG’s Ten-Speed design elements, Helium Whisper technology, and a new laser cut Velcro One-Wrap belt mounting system to create a line of pouches that are light, thin, durable, and versatile.

The line includes several items like multiple magazine pouches, a dump pouch, a baton pouch, cuff pouch, and pepper spray pouch. All of the pouches are extremely light in weight and add very little thickness to the objects that they are carrying which makes them very concealable.

I have had several of these pouches in hand for a few months and I’m really impressed with the laser cut One-Wrap belt loops. It allows you to place the pouches anywhere you want on your belt without having to remove the belt. It also serves to lock down their locations on Velcro lined duty belts. It is a clever system that has a lot of potential.

BFG Trauma Kit NOW! Upgrade

You really have to keep an eye on Blue Force Gear (BFG). They quietly improve and revise their gear all the time. They often don’t even make a big deal about it! That is the case with the Trauma Kit NOW! (TKN!) which has seen some unheralded upgrades in recent months.

The TKN! is a trauma kit that was designed to hold the entire contents of the Army IFAK. It has a unique pouch and insert design. The pouch is tapered and fixed to the users gear so that a tug on the top flap deploys the entire contents of the IFAK laid out in organized fashion on a transportable tray.

The new TKN! is more durable than ever thanks to the use of BFG’s proprietary ULTRAcomp material for the insert. The top flap has an improved pull tab that always holds its shape and has dimension so it is easier for the user to grasp when deploying the TKN!. It also has laser cut slots on the top flap for adding a small MOLLE pouch or tourniquet. The laser cut medical cross indicator reveals a bright red cross which the user can mute by inserting a black backer if they wish to reduce the visibility of bright colors.

The TKN! still makes use of BFG’s Helium Whisper backing to attach to any MOLLE compatible surface.

Blue Force Gear – New for 2015

Larry Vickers visited Blue Force Gear at SHOT Show 2015 and received a first look at a ton of new gear being released this year. The video shows the new belt pouches that have already been announced but also gives a glimpse of an upcoming belt and the new AK sling based on the success of the limited editions that were released last year.

As a big fan of Blue Force Gear’s packs and Dapper system, I think the biggest new in the video is the return of the Micro DAP Pack with some new features and an affordable price. I know that the Dappers themselves are also being redesigned and released. I have put hands on them and they have been improved in a big way. Stay tuned for more.
