EDC Gun Belt – New from Gadsden Dynamics

Gadsden Dynamics has just opened pre-ordering for their new EDC Gun Belt. This belt is designed to be rigid enough to support all the defensive tools you carry daily but thin enough that the entire belt, including the buckle, can pass through belt loops.

To that end, the EDC Gun Belt features 2 layers of mil-spec webbing over a thin polymer stiffener which is thinner than typical scuba webbing belts. It is fastened with a AustriAlpin 1″ low profile Cobra Buckle that is 2mm thinner than standard Cobra Buckles. The belt’s length is adjusted with a thin metal triglides to avoid the added thickness and potential failure point of hook and loop material.

Speedbox Endurance-40

The new Endurance-40 from Speedbox is a more compact, mobile storage solution than their original Voyager-70. If you deal with palletizing gear for deployment, the compact size is optimized for ISU 90 and 463-L pallet fit. If you are a regular guy like me, the compact size means Endurance-40 is easier to move and store while still handling up to 300 pounds of gear.

The new Endurance-40 shares many features with the larger Endurance-70. It is constructed from tough roto-molded plastic with lift points and stack/interlocking points molded into the exterior of the case. It is fitted with large, no-flat wheels for rolling on terrain. Speedbox uses beefy hardware for the cam latches, handle, and hinges to ensure a long service life.

The Endurance-40 seals air and water tight. It has a drain that enables it to be used as a cooler in a pinch. The drain and built in vent also ensure that the atmospheric conditions inside the Endurance-40 remain equal to those outside so the case is easy to open in all conditions.

These are obviously built for the military market but they have feature set that are interesting for the hunter or public land shooter. We are just scratching the surface of the features and functionality of these cases. Check out the new Endurance-40 at Speedbox.us for more details.

OV Innovations Cache Seconds – BARGAIN!

I’ve wanted to pick up an OV Innovations Cache – a modular beavertail/tailgate add-on for backpacks – since they came out. Last week, while browsing the OV Innovations website for an unrelated story, I came across their Cache Seconds. They are blowing out some Caches that they have deemed as not quite up their standards as seconds for $25. I couldn’t turn down a deal like that.

OV Innovations told me these are pretty rough by their standards but I can verify that they are completely functional. In fact, I would bet that most wouldn’t know these are seconds. OV Innovations wouldn’t let them out the door if they weren’t sure that they would perform.

I’ve wanted a Cache for use on my Hill People Gear Tarahumara. The Cache extends the usefulness of my Tarahumara into “shoulder” seasons where I have to carry extra layers that would otherwise take up most of the room in my pack. The Cache allows me carry these bulky but lightweight items outside my pack.

The clever design has large pleats with vertical stiffening rods to create a bellowed pocket. The design allows the Cache to lay completely flat when not in use but bow out to provide volume and encapsulate your gear. I have been able to rig it to several different packs and find it to be extremely flexible.

It is hard to go wrong with a piece of gear this flexible for just $25.

B.E. Meyers Salutes the USSF

This is too good. B.E. Meyers salutes the brave predecessors to the USSF. All kidding aside, you know B.E. Meyers is already cooking up some sweet space lasers and probably testing the efficacy of their flash suppressors in a vacuum.
