Many towns have a memorial statue, garden, plaque, or monument to honor veterans who have passed away in service tot heir nation somewhere in a park or near a government building. My family and I have found that visiting one of these sites and reading the names can make real the concept that actual people, from our own community, have given their lives for this nation.

I have been wearing an S&B Watches SANS-13 since 2014. It is one of my favorite watches and the watch that launched the S&B Watches brand. Now, 5 years later, the SANS-13 has received some updates.
The first, and perhaps most meaningful upgrade, is the movement. The SANS-13 now boasts an quartz movement manufactured by Swiss maker, ETA.
The original watch featured interesting lume vials which apparently broke down on some watches (mine is still pristine). As a result, S&B Watches has moved to C3 Super Lume infused paint markers and hands. Removing the vials had another nice side-effect. The hand stack is now shorter, allowing the 316L stainless case to be adjusted from 15mm thick to just 12mm. The SANS-13 has the same 42mm case but it is now more svelte.
Speaking of the case, its water-resistance has been improved. Previous iterations of the SANS-13 were water-resistant to 200 meters. The new SANS-13 2.0 boasts 300 meter water-resistance.
Finally, S&B Watches has done away with the threaded bars between the 22mm lugs in favor of traditional spring bars. I liked the original threaded bars for their durability but acknowledge that the spring bars will make strap swaps easier for those who wish to do so.

You may recall our recent post about Swampfox Optics and their unique approach in a market swimming with OEM rifle scopes. They are set to grow their line in a big way in the near future to include a new line of optics for precision shooters called the Patriot series.
Swampfox Optics has teased the first two scopes in the line: 4-16×44 and 6-24×50. Both will have non-illuminated reticles and adjustable parallax that can be focused close enough for .22LR shooters (20 yards for the 4-16×44 and 10 yards for the 6-24×50).
According to Swampfox Optics’ Marketing Director, Mike Branson:
The Patriot is going to be a value leader. Really nice glass, impressive eyebox, smart MOA and MIL/MRAD reticles in first focal plane, and zero-resettable (not zero stop) turrets that track correctly. The 4-16×44 will be $369 MSRP and the 6-24×50 will be $429 MSRP. And, there’s a neat little touch that comes right in the box, just a little “hey neato of them to include this” which I’m not going to give away yet.
Swampfox Optics has also teased a few new scopes that we can expect sometime after the release of the Patriot line included illuminated reticle options in the Patriot line and more premium precision optics called the Warhawk and Kentucky Long. Mike Branson states, “Warhawk has a 34mm main tube, Kentucky Long a 30mm main tube. We will have a variety of magnifications available from 2-12x44mm all the way up to a monster 5-30x56mm.”
