Beez Combat Systems Hydration Carrier

We recently told you about Beez Combat Systems’ new padded harness for their chest rigs. Now they are showing off what that harness can do with the introduction of their new Hydration Carrier. The new harness and hydration carrier turn the BCS chest rigs in to more complete load carriage systems that allow you to scale up from a minimalist chest rig to a chest rig with padded harness and hydration capabilities.

The new hydration carrier features a large flap closure with a Velcro panel for attaching patches and identification. It can accommodate a 2 or 3 liter hydration reservoir and attaches to padded harness (or any other MOLLE gear) via MALICE Clips that are not included.

ESEE News

ESEE released some new photos of their upcoming stainless models. The ESEE 4 and Izula will be available in 440C stainless steel sometime in 2013. 440C is a great choice given ESEE’s commitment to keeping their knives easy to sharpen in the field. The stainless models will not be coated like the current 1095 carbon steel models.

Speaking of a lack of coating, ESEE is also currently considering releasing some uncoated versions of their 1095 steel models. If this is something that interests you, visit the ESEE forum and weigh in on the topic.

Apex Extractor in Gen 3 GLOCKs

Randy Lee from Apex Tactical Specialties recently posted information about the performance of his G-FRE (GLOCK Failure Resistant Extractor). While the extractor has been a huge success in Gen 4 guns, he has been disappointed with its performance in Gen 3 guns. As a result, he has announced that he will begin work on a Gen 3 specific version of the G-FRE. You can read his thoughts on M4Carbine.net.

Not only is this great news for shooters who are struggling to get their late manufacture 9mm Gen 3 Glocks to function as reliably as they would like, but it is also a display of the type of transparency and self-evaluation that makes a company great. Check out ApexTactical.com.

The Second Amendment as a Barometer

It is true that we, as a community of gun owners, are often guilty of fixating on just the 2nd Amendment rather than a candidate’s view of the entire Bill of Rights. However, it is also true that the 2nd Amendment is an excellent barometer to be used to judge a candidate’s regard for the entire Bill of Rights.

Too often it seems that people do not realize that a candidate who has no qualms about encroaching on one right, will have no qualms about encroaching on others. I will never understand how the reduction, limitation, or denial of the 2nd Amendment can be viewed by some as a moral victory and not for what it is – another step toward a very, very slippery slope in which all of our rights are in danger.

There is no such thing as an anti-2nd Amendment candidate. It is time we call them what they are… Anti-Bill of Rights.
