From Blue Force Gear…

Blue Force Gear® announced today that they have reached an agreement with The Safariland Group to license their Helium Whisper™ technology for U.S. domestic manufacture as part of PROTECH® Tactical, an armor brand of The Safariland Group.  The Safariland Group is the largest company to receive licensing rights for Helium Whisper and will use the Patent pending technology to enhance products they provide to law enforcement markets.

“The Safariland Group shares our passion for helping the good guys to make it home safe,” said Ashley Burnsed, founder and CEO of Blue Force Gear.  “We are extremely happy to work with them.”

Combining PROTECH Tactical’s cutting edge armor with lighter modular pouches allows officers to respond to emerging threats with speed and agility.

“The Safariland Group has a reputation for offering innovative and exciting products to the law enforcement market,” said Glenn Katz, Vice President of Sales and Marketing for The Safariland Group.  “We are excited to bring this excellent product line to a wider audience through this distribution and licensing agreement with Blue Force Gear.”

Helium Whisper allows modular pouch backs to be constructed from a single piece of high-performance laminate versus the multiple straps and snaps of older attachment systems.  This amazing breakthrough increases strength and durability of pouches while eliminating failure points and reducing weight by up to 60 percent.  Helium Whisper has a proven track record with elite U.S. Special Operations Forces.

Vigilant Gear Micro SERE Kit

Vigilant Gear has access to all the best survival and E&E tools. They know the tools inside and out. It makes absolutely perfect sense that they would start offering their own kits.

The first kit to be available through Vigilant Gear is the Micro SERE Kit. It is, as the name implies, a very compact E&E kit. How compact? I’m glad you asked. The entire kit will be 2.3″ x 1.8″ x .5″.  You could hide it under a business card! It’s definitely small.

You can see the contents of the kit in this image that Vigilant Gear produced (below).

Final pricing and availability information will be released soon. Check out Vigilant Gear.

RE Factor Tactical ASO Bag – Now in Foliage Green

RFASO-2TFoliage Green, or at least similar colors under different names, is experiencing a bit of a comeback. It is really more gray than green and goes well with many of the current gray colorways that gear makers are introducing. It is also a reasonably low profile color when used on its own. So, with all that in mind, it is a perfect fit for RE Factor Tactical’s ASO Bag.

You can read more about the ASO Bag in our previous post and at RE Factor Tactical.

Appalachian Training LTC Level IV Stand Alone Plates and EOC Combo

If you are looking for a deal on armor plates, Appalachian Training has you covered (that’s a little armor humor for you). They are selling the LTC Level IV Stand Alone Plates for just $149.95 each or as part of a very slick combo which saves you even more money.

EOC-PKG-4

The LTC Level IV Stand Alone Plate is a single curve, 10″ x 12″, shooters cut plate. They are .73″ thick and weigh 8.25 pounds each.

Appalachian Training has this to say about the plates:

This rig is fully capable for the occasional class, bail-out or truck rig, or any contingency that will require a limited use. While this is US made and quality, the design is not one that we would recommend for constant hard-use (LE, PMC, .mil). In our experience this design is a perfect balance for the US citizen that need an armor solution, but may not require the full features of a LWPC, LPAAC, or our APC.

This plate is also available as part of a combo that includes 2 plates, a Mission Spec EOC Carrier, and shoulder pads.
