Crowdfund This: BeerRambit Multi-Tool Kickstarter

The original BeerRambits were the creation of Lake County Knife & Tool (LCKT). They were handmade from brass or titanium and they were very, very cool. The design was part bottle opener, part knuck, part kubotan, and part karambit. They were cool to look at but also a formidable impact tool. Now LCKT has a new BeerRambit design that isn’t quite as quaint but it takes the functionality of the tool to a new level.

They are attempting to crowdfund the production of the BeerRambit Multi-Tool and they are already basically fully funded with 19 days to go. This most recent version of the BeerRambit is machined from A2 tool steel and boasts a ton of new tricks. It features a slot cut into the ring that allows it to ride on your pocket, a pronounced prying edge that can also be used to break tape on packages thought it is not cutting sharp, a screwdriver bit retention slot, and a clever bit holder to turn the BeerRambit into a screwdriver with plenty of torque.

The campaign has just 1 perk – a BeerRambit Multi-Tool of your very own. Check it out at Kickstarter.

The Lux from Armordillo Concealment

You may remember the Armordillo Concealment X-FER Holster, a minimalist holster that locked onto the weapon light rather than a specific handgun which allowed it to be used with any handgun that would accept the same weapon light. Armadillo Concealment’s newest holster, The Lux, builds on that concept. It still locks on the the light but it adds more coverage to protect the user from coming in contact with a hot gun which is important during training. The additional coverage also allows Armordillo Concealment to fit The Lux with a more traditional and substantial belt clip. They can also do things that enhance concealment like angling the clip to turn the butt of the grip in toward the wearer.

The Lux is already known to work with just about any of the 9mm/.40S&W double stack Glocks, the full-size S&W M&P, and the full-size Springfield XD. It should also work with countless other similarly sized guns. It is available for the Surefire X300, Surefire X300 Ultra, and Streamlight TLR-1 family of lights.

Bastion EDC Valet Tray

I put my flashlight, pocket knife, multitool, cell phone, keys, and similar EDC gear down in roughly the same place every day. When I don’t, it usually leads to me having to tear apart the house to find something. That is exactly why a valet tray is such a good idea for people like us who stuff their pockets with EDC gear daily. It serves as the perfect place to collect all that gear so you always know where it is (and your wife doesn’t have to remind you not to leave your stuff on every flat surface in the house every other day).

Bastion’s new Black PU Leather EDC Valet Tray looks great and won’t break the bank. It folds flat so you can travel with it and it even has a snap-in divider. The divider is handy so you can keep things like keys from being dropped on or rubbing against more sensitive gear like your phone.

Sentinel Gear Update

A lot has happened since I last mentioned Sentinel Gear. Their slim, easy to carry, no nonsense Mk3 is what put them on my radar. They have grown their line of self-defense oriented fixed blade knives considerably since then.

They have introduced a Pikal (reverse edge) knife called the Mk3 P’Kal. It features the same handle that can be found on the Mk3 with a chisel ground 1095 steel blade.

Sentinel Gear has also introduced their take on a Persian blade. It features a sweeping, curved blade with a great tip for point driven techniques. It is also available with a sharpened false edge which makes this knife work for both edge in and edge out techniques. The Persian is available in a number of handle options and even a package that comes complete with a training drone.

I like Sentinel Gear’s style. All of their knives are well suited to carry with a handgun and their slim designs make them easy to carry toward the wearer’s centerline. These are purpose driven custom knives that are very affordable compared to many knives in this same space.
