Unity Tactical KNUCKL

No one does modular like Unity Tactical. Their FUSION series mounts and hubs brought a whole new level of modularity to rifles and their new KNUCKL Helmet Mount is set to bring that same level of modularity to helmets.

The KNUCKL Helmet Mount hub unit attaches to just about any helmet rail. Once installed, it serves as an attachment point for a number of other accessories including FUSION accessories, Surefire Scout series lights, and the included KNUCKL accessories. It can mount up to two accessories at a time.

The KNUCKL base unit can be used to mount the following:

  • Surefire Scout Lights (no adapter required)
  • Contour Camera (adapter included)
  • Princeton Tec MPLS (adapter included)
  • Rail-mounted lights (1913 rail included)
  • Standard flashlights with FUSION Ring Adapter (not included)
  • Surefire Millennium Lights with FUSION Adapter (not included)
  • Wilcox Lanyard (optional at point of purchase)

Basically, the KNUCKL serves as a single, compact point for mounting nearly everything commonly mounted to a helmet short of the night vision device itself. It’s modular design means that Unity Tactical can continue to develop new mounting accessories for it as new technology requires.

The KNUCKL is available in black or FDE and with or without a Wilcox Lanyard. Check it out at Unity Tactical.

FBI Selects Aimpoint

The FBI HRT and DSU have both selected Aimpoints to be issues to their agents. Many people tend to think of the T-1 and T-2 with their extra water-resistance rating and night vision compatibility as the “professional” Aimpoints in the Micro series but apparently not even all professionals need those feature sets. The H-1 and H-2 are excellent optics in their own right and more than capable of duty use for those who don’t need NV capability.

From Aimpoint:

Chantilly, VA – November 24, 2015 – Aimpoint, the originator and worldwide leader in electronic red- dot sighting technology, has announced that the US Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) is now issuing Aimpoint Micro Series Sights to agents in the Hostage Rescue Team (HRT) and Defensive Systems Unit (DSU).

The FBI conducted rigorous testing on optics from a wide variety of manufacturers. Following this selection process, the Aimpoint Micro T-2 and Micro H-2 were authorized as issued optics. The Micro T-2 was chosen for use by the HRT, and the Micro H-2 was selected by the DSU.

Contracts were awarded via competitive bidding process, and Aimpoint Dealers began shipments to the FBI in July, 2015.

A Modern Seabag by Hardin Softgoods

Hardin Softgoods has taken the classic seabag and reimagined it as a modern EDC bag. The result is pretty darn slick.

The Modern Seabag features 1000D Cordura Nylon construction with a coated rip-stop nylon lining. All the hardware is metal and the bag is zipper-free and lockable thanks to the seabag style top closure. The bag features a single large, main compartment and a smaller exterior compartment for small items. The padded shoulder straps and reinforced side handle ensure the Modern Seabag is easily portable.

This bag appears to be sized right (21L) and just about bomb-proof. It is made right here in the USA. Check out the Modern Seabag from Hardin Softgoods on Kickstarter.
