Rogue Gunfighter Store is Live

The Rogue Gunfighter web store is now on line. You have probably been following the development of the LVR like the rest of us and hoping it would be available soon. Well, the wait is over.

Rogue Gunfighter LVR

The LVR is an armor carrier that is really loaded with unique features. It seems to scale endlessly and easily. Without adding or removing a single pouch it can serve as a low visibility, slick carrier or carry up to 10 M4 mags, a handgun, and other gear! It comes with a removable MOLLE chest rig to further increase its load bearing potential.

The LVR isn’t all they have at the new store so head over to RogueGunfighter.com and check it out.

Princeton Tec VIZZ

I always look forward to seeing what Princeton Tec will come up with next – especially when it comes to headlamps. I have been using their lights for more than 15 years! Their newest headlamp is called the VIZZ and it looks like it has a lot going for it.

Princeton Tec VIZZ

The VIZZ has only one button. The user can dictate how the light behaves by how they interact with this button. Click it one time for red light output from 2 5mm LEDs. Click it two times for 150 lumens of white light. If you depress and hold the button, you can activate 2 dimable 5mm white LEDs. Click three times to lock the VIZZ to prevent accidental activation.

I have a strong affinity for headlamps that either come on in low red mode or that allow the user to easily access this mode without shuffling through the bright white modes. This prevents you from ruining your dark adjusted vision.

The VIZZ runs on 3x AAA batteries which is a form factor that Princeton Tec has perfected. It keeps the light small enough and light enough that it doesn’t need a top strap but still provides long runtimes (up to 160 hours for the VIZZ).

The Police Loophole

In most cases, when a state or local government passes legislation to limit magazine capacity, ban a certain type of firearm, or otherwise limit the 2nd Amendment freedoms of their populace, they build in exemptions for their police department. Now there is a movement afoot to close this so called Police Loophole. Many companies are deciding to discontinue sales to the police departments of anywhere that enforces such a double standard.

A new website has popped up recently that lets you know who is already on board with this movement. There are some real industry giants on the list already. Check out ThePoliceLoophole.com.

You can use the information at the site to make decisions on where to spend your money. You can also use it to ask your favorite retailers and manufacturers where they stand or have them added to the list if they have already taken a stand.

Hazard 4 Poncho Villa

A good poncho is just about as versatile as any gear can be. The USGI poncho is part raincoat, part bivy cover, part tent, and all awesome. Hazard 4 has taken all of the functionality and upgraded the materials. The result is the Poncho Villa.

The Ponco Villa is a modernized version of the venerable USGI poncho. It features softshell fabric construction to keep the rain off while still being somewhat breathable. It has snaps to close the sides and grommets so it can be strung up as a makeshift tent. The Poncho Villa packs into its own front pocket which has a Velcro field on the front for displaying ID or patches. There are also Velcro fields on the shoulders, back of the head, and back.

This poncho has even more tricks up its sleeves (or lack there of). Read more at Hazard4.com.

CrossTac RECON Shooting Mat

Most shooting mats are way too formal for me. I don’t do a lot of true precision shooting so I often don’t really need all the features that a hardcore shooting mat offers. However, there are times when it would be nice to have a lightweight ground covering when I am on the range. The RECON Shooting Mat from CrossTac looks pretty much exactly like what I envision as my perfect shooting mat.

It features 2 ply 500D nylon construction. The nylon is polyurethane coated for water resistance. One side of the mat is Multicam and the other is A-TACS AU so you can blend into a variety of environments. Both sides feature what CrossTac calls their Bipod Rail which is a clever piece of sewn down webbing that gives you something to load your bipod against while shooting. The RECON Shooting Mat also has large grommets at each corner so it can be staked down in windy conditions. I could also see something like this serving as an emergency shelter or ground cover.
