Elzetta continues to build the suite of accessories available for their modular flashlights. The newest is a red version of their drop-in flood lens. This new version diffuses the light over a wide area and helps to preserve your dark adjusted vision. I suspect this would work especially well with the high/low tail cap to provide a low output, long runtime lighting option that preserves dark adjusted vision.

Ben’s Backwoods Bandanet Survival Bandana
There are a lot of “survival” bandanas on the market. Most of them are basically just a bandana with questionable survival information printed on them. The Bandanet Survival Bandana from Ben’s Backwoods actually has a few useful tricks up its sleeve.
On one side, it looks like a normal good quality cotton bandana. When you turn it over you see a piece of bug netting sewn into the bandana. The net is attached in such a way that turning it inside out turns the Bandanet into a wearable bug net.
The Bandanet can still be used is all the same ways you might use a bandana like as a towel, a head covering, a pre-filter for water, etc. The net also makes it useful as a sack that can be useful for gathering tinder or edibles.
I always carry a bandana anyway so something like this, that serves multiple purposes, could easily find a home in my kit. Check out the Ben’s Backwoods Bandanet Survival Bandana.
Bogota π
SerePick is showing off a new product that they may bring to market soon called Bogota π. SerePick has created other Bogota sets in the traditional pick form factor like the Titan Flats set. However, these are around 3.14159265359” (hence the name) which makes them very compact.
The Bogota π set includes a Hook, Double, Triple and Quad Bogota along with a flat double-sided tensioner. Currently, only a few sample sets have been created. They will hopefully go into production soon.

Multicam Alpine MPIL from Battle Systems
The Battle Systems MPIL has a significant new capability under it’s belt thanks to a new camo pattern. The addition of a new Multicam Alpine version gives the MPIL true 4 season functionality.
The original MPIL had an orange side and a pink side, just like the legacy VS-17 that it so deftly replaces. In subsequent versions, Battle Systems replaced the pink side with various camo patterns that gave the MPIL the ability to both be plainly visible and to conceal from sight. Now, with the addition of the Multicam Alpine, that concealment ability has been extended to winter and snowy, alpine climates.
The hunter/hiker can now purchase an MPIL with the original Multicam pattern and a Multicam Alpine pattern to cover their signalling and concealment needs throughout the year. Check out the new Multicam Alpine MPIL from Battle Systems.
