There is at least one Vickers Tactical part on most of my Glocks. The LAV knows his way around Gaston’s creation. Now, he has turned his attention to Glock’s latest – the Glock 42.
Larry Vickers has once again teamed up with Tango Down to produce a new Glock product – Vickers Tactical Glock 42 Basepads. The new base pads add some additional real estate on the front strap of the grip to make the littlest Glock a bit easier to shoot. They taper down to flush with the back of the grip which is good news from a concealment perspective since it is the butt of the grip that you actually have to worry about printing.
They are also scalloped in a similar way to the Vickers Tactical Glock Basepads for full size glocks. These scallops give you great leverage when you need to strip a magazine out of a gun during a malfunction clearance.
These will be available soon and you can expect to see more Vickers Tactical parts for the Glock 42 soon (hopefully a mag released and slide release).
RailScales are KeyMod compatible handguard covers that are made from G-10 – a material that all you knife enthusiasts are already familiar with due to its use as knife handle slabs. G-10 is a fiberglass reinforced epoxy laminate material that is a great insulator, basically impervious to solvents, can be machined to be very grippy, and is very impact resistant.
As someone who appreciates the durability, grip, and protection that well shaped G-10 or Micarta knife handle slabs can offer, I have long wondered why no one had adapted these materials to be used on AR-15 handguards. There was at least one maker who made G-10 and Micarta bolt-on rail covers in very limited numbers but never with the intent of making them a production item.
On one hand, I find it strange that no one has done this yet but on the other hand, I am glad Bill Coye is behind the effort to bring RailScales to market. If anyone knows how to make a functional and comfortable G-10 grip, it’s him. Asset Weapon MFG is also lending their expertise to the project.
According to RailScales:
The first offering is a four grooved black panel design reminiscent of a Coye Knives custom handle. Numerous lengths, textures, colors, and other G10 accessories are already underway as well.
Launch date is on or before June 11th, 2014. Pricing and per-pack quantity information will be available at that time.

Vertx has done the EDC world a great favor with the introduction of their MAP and BAP. If you carry a bag that is lined with loop side Velcro, you owe them a debt of gratitude for what I am about to show you.
The MAP is essentially a MOLLE compatible panel that is made from One-Wrap. Basically, you attach your MOLLE compatible pouches to the MAP in order to adapt them to work with Velcro lined bags. It is available in 4 sizes so you can turn any MOLLE pouch in your inventory into a Velcro backed pouch. Genius!
The BAP is just as clever as the MAP. It is also made from One-Wrap and allows you to adapt belt mounted gear like pouches and holsters to be used with Velcro lined bags. Genius again!
