MGL Victory Aegis Belt

Mean Gene Leather (MGL) just announced their new MGL Victory Aegis Belt. That is “Victory” as in Matt Jacques of Victory First who helped make the project happen and “Aegis” as in the Aegis Belt from Ares Gear. This belt combines MGL’s well crafted leather over webbing belt with the Aegis buckle.

I have been using an Aegis Belt from Ares Gear for a while now and it is the best gun belt I have ever owned precisely because of the buckle. The Aegis buckle makes the belt completely Velcro-free, easy adjust, it looks darn good, and it is easy to thread because one end of the belt is buckle-free. It should work just as well with a high quality leather belt but with a load more refinement.

Pricing and availability haven’t been announced yet so just feast your eyes on the pictures for now.

Magpul PMAG17 GL9

Is no gun safe from the all encompassing arms of Magpul!?!? Who cares! Please pass the $15.95 Glock 17 magazines.

These magazines feature typical Magpul attention to detail and all polymer construction. They are easier than OEM mags to disassemble, have ridged floorplates to aid in stripping the mag or retrieving it from a carrier, feature high visibility followers, stainless springs, 17rd indicator windows, and a matrix on the base plate used to mark your magazines. Magpul states that these will drop free whether they are empty or full.

TOPS Knives at SHOT Show

The TOPS Knives booth at SHOT Show will have plenty to see. In addition to new knives and old favorites, they will have a number of their knife designing partners on hand at various times for you to meet. They will also be hosting Dr. Hayley Adams who is one of the founders of the Silent Heroes Foundation.

It appears that one of the new knives might be a larger version of the Baja 3.0 that I recently reviewed. TOPS Knives’ teaser image appears to show what could be a Baja 4.5.

Lone Star Medics Field and Tactical Medicine Conference

The instructor list at the 2015 Lone Star Medics Field and Tactical Medicine Conference reads like a who’s who list of the tactical medicine training industry. The conference is designed to bring people from all walks of life together to learn about “specific subjects related to both field medicine and tactical medicine” with an overall goal of sharing the hard earned knowledge of the various SMEs. Basically, some hardcore learning will occur and you won’t want to miss it.

The registration fees are surprisingly affordable but you will want to check out the conference information page to learn about the early registration discounts, available courses, scheduling, and structure.
