Spirit of Blue Tourniquet Project

Spirit of Blue is teaming with North American Rescue to put life saving tourniquets in the hands of police officers around the country.

Spirit of Blue is launching the Tourniquet Project with the goal of granting 500 tourniquets to police officers across the country who are in need of one. With every $30 donation, Spirit of Blue will grant one C-A-T Tourniquet from North American Rescue. Tourniquets have proven to be one of the most affordable and effective lifesaving tools on the modern battlefield and the potential for them to protect the lives of law enforcement officers is just as great, though access to them pales to that of in the military. So, we aim to get 500 new tourniquets into the hands of officers before the end of the year and then grow this program consistently over time.

Austere Provisions Company CORE Panel

It’s been a long time since I wrote about the CORE Panel from Austere Provisions Company (APC) but they recently released a new promo image that jogged my memory on this versatile piece of kit. The CORE Panel is made for APC by Blue Force Gear (BFG) from BFG’s proprietary ULTRAcomp material and using their MOLLEminus technology.

It is called a “panel” but it can also be opened up like a bag. You can attach MOLLE compatible pouches to nearly every surface of the CORE Panel. It can also accept straps and buckles along its perimeter. The simple design and versatile attachment points allow it to function as a go bag, med kit, bandoleer, or even an improvised chest rig. I have even used it as an expansion panel for a larger backpack.

Northwest Shooting Sports Expo

If you are anywhere near Tacoma, Washington on August 27th and 28th, you won’t want to miss the Northwest Shooting Sports Expo. This trade show will do a great job of showcasing the thricing shooting scene in the northwest. It already boasts a ton of well known exhibitors from the area and around the country including Aimpoint, Haley Strategic, LMT, Sig Sauer, Tactical Tailor, Trijicon, and a lot more.

The Northwest Shooting Sports Expo, is the Pacific Northwest’s premiere shooting exhibition and showcase. The event has deep roots in the Northwest shooting community and is meant to promote a cohesion of shooting interests including tactical, competition, hunting, civilian, law enforcement, and military. The event is designed as an industry trade show for vendors and manufacturers to gather and discuss new products, industry trends, and celebrate the shooting communities camaraderie.

Sionics Patrol III Updates Complete

You may remember Sionics Weapon Systems’ announcement of forthcoming updates to their the Patrol Rifle III uppers and complete rifles. All of those updates have now been implemented and are available on the current production units. These updates include a switch to the Centurion Arms CMR M-LOK for both the complete rifles and uppers (13″ rail on the Patrol Rifle III and a 15″ rail on the Patrol Rifle III XL). The complete rifles will now ship with with a Tango Down BG-18 Grip and B5 Systems SOPMOD Bravo Stock.
