VerTac and Esstac Collaboration Gear

Training company Vertac and nylon gear producer Esstac have collaborated on a number of new gear items that are only available from VerTac.

The VerTac Swift Action Panel and Swift Action Panel V2 are placcards designed to dock on a plate carrier with SwiftClip attachment system. Both versions offer an IFAK pouch, 2 M4 magazine pouches complete with KYWI inserts, and a way to carry a tourniquet. The V2 adds a multipurpose/pistol pouch.

The VerTac Wingman Chest Rig has all the features of the Swift Action Panel V2 and then some, but in a stand-alone chest rig design. It has additional sections of PALS webbing for adding your own pouches and integral wing pouches for radios or additional magazines.

The line also includes the VerTac Cummerbund and VerTac IFAK. You can check out the entire line of VerTac gear and a selection of other Esstac items at VerrettsTactical.com.

GeoBallistics DIY Apple Watch Rifle Mount

GeoBallistics recently shared a way for exporting ballistic data from their app to an Apple Watch and then mounting said Apple Watch to your rifle to create an electronic dope card for your rifle. It all sounds very high tech but the beauty of it is that it is actually relatively simple and approachable for DIY types.

They created a video that shows how to push your rifle’s data to the Apple Watch. It is basically just exporting an image file that can be viewed in the Photos app.

You should be able to recreate the mount from seeing the pictures. It is just a Nite Ize Gear Tie and armor case, along with some adhesive Velcro. The “mount” allows you to position the watch where ever you need it and it folds out of the way when not in use.

There are definitely times when you might prefer more reliable, non-electronic methods of displaying your dope but the convenience of this setup would be great at the range. It would allow you to easy carry, organize, and access as many data cards as your Apple Watch can hold.

ITS Tactical TourniQuick

ITS Tactical’s new TourniQuck is a pouch designed to carry, fully cover, and even deploy CAT and SOF-T tourniquets. It makes use of a similar one-handed pull-to-deploy design found on ITS Tactical’s ETA Trauma Kit Pouch. When the user pulls the red marked (included red Velcro ONE-WRAP) loop, the outer surface of the pouch breaks away and unfurls the tourniquet fully so that it is immediately ready to place around a limb.

The TourniQuck can be mounted a number of ways including vertically or horizontally on a belt, vertically on a backpack strap, or vertically on PALS webbing. It is made in the USA.

Sneak Peek: Wild Hedgehog Tactical and Ryker Nylon Collaborate on the EDATK

Wild Hedgehog Tactical assembles and sells a variety of trauma and first aid kits. Ryker Nylon makes the AFAK (Ankle First Aid Kit), an ankle pouch designed to carry essential aid items. It sounds like a match made in heaven to me.

These companies have teamed up to offer the EDATK or Every Day Ankle Trauma Kit, a fully stocked version of the AFAK. It features components like the SOFT-Wide Tourniquet, HyFin Chest Seals, and Celox Rapid hemostatic gauze and weighs in at 1 pound fully stocked.

The EDATK is designed to be carried on the ankle discreetly and comfortably anywhere from the trail to the office. Each compartment is individually secured so that items won’t be lost during high activity.

Stay tuned for pricing and release information. The release date should be closer to the end of this month.
