The Amtac Blade Magnus has received some updates. All current and future Magnus knives will have a swedge grind that extends back from the tip to about 1.5″ from the handle. This swedge grind reduces the weight by .8 ounces, shifting the balance slightly for a more lively feel in the hand, and produces a tip that is even more efficient in thrusting cuts.
Otherwise, it is the same great Magnus you already know. It features a 5″ blade with an 8 5/8″ overall length. It is ground from 3/16″ thick CPM20CV steel. It also retains the sharp spine of the original Magnus to be used in striking the Belt Firesheath’s integral ferro rod.

The Klapatche is a companion knife to larger knives or axes for the serious adventurist or as a standalone blade for those wanting a highly capable knife in a compact and lightweight package. The wider blade allows you to dig the blade deep into wood with a baton. The thumb ramp has a hole that is the perfect size to remove bullets from cartridges so the powder can be used for fire-starting. The handle is shaped to allow for multiple grips (forward grip, reverse grip, blade down etc.). Procamptek’s Fire Strip Roll is a water-resistant, wax-infused, fibrous paper tinder. You simply tear off a piece, work the paper with your fingers until the wax is breaking up and the fibers are fluffed, and then light the fibers with a spark or flame.
Fire Strip Roll is especially interesting because of its completely flat form factor. It could easily be pre-cut into sections and stored in a variety of ways that would be too messy or too cramped for other forms of pre-made tinder. The flat, paper-thin form opens up a world of useful storage options.
