Apex Tactical Specialists GLOCK Failure Resistant Extractor

This might be the most anticipated GLOCK part to come along in a long, long time. The GLOCK Failure Resistant Extractor from Apex Tactical Specialists is now available.

Due to the very public extraction/ejection/who knows what issues that GLOCK has been going through with their recent production 9mm handguns, people have been scrambling to get a once reliable handgun back up and running true to form. If you have one of these function challenged (aka unreliable) GLOCKs then you will definitely want to read what Randy from Apex Tactical Specialties has written about the issues with GLOCK extraction and how he addressed it with his Failure Resistant Extractor on M4Carbine.net.

The GLOCK Failure Resistant Extractor has already been extensively tested by numerous shooters with problem GLOCKs. The results were very promising. It is now available at the Apex Tactical Specialties website, but act fast, because the first run will likely sell out quickly.

Build your own AK with Jim Fuller and Billy Cho of Rifle Dynamics

Building your own AK sounds pretty cool because it is pretty cool. Building that AK with recognized industry leaders like Jim Fuller and Billy Cho of Rifle Dynamics is even cooler.

On February 10th, Rifle Dynamics will be putting on a “Build Your Own AK Class” in their Las Vegas, Nevada shop. They will teach you how to use the right tools and techniques as you build your very own AK from a Romanian parts kit with a chrome lined US made barrel and NoDak Spud receiver. Then, once it is built, you will be able to test fire it.

ModuLoader from Raven Concealment Systems and Ares Gear

The ModuLoader from Raven Concealment Systems (RCS) and Ares Gear is a shotgun shell carrier system. It allows you to carry shotgun shells on your shotgun like a side saddle, on your belt, or both at the same time.

The system utilizes Velcro backed panels with elastic loops. The Velcro allows them to be placed on a custom kydex belt panel or adhesive Velcro material that adheres to your shotgun receiver. This system allows the user to quickly and easily place a shell holder exactly where they need them. You could even carry extra shell carriers and swap them out  as you deplete others.

New Thorntail Light Mount from Haley Strategic Partners and IWC

The Thorntail series of light mounts from Haley Strategic Partners and Impact Weapons Components do what you expect a light mount to do – attach a light to your rifle. If that was all they did, they wouldn’t be nearly as successful as they have been. The Thorntail series of light mounts are about more than mounting lights, they are about solving problems.

The newest addition to the Thorntail family is designed to place weapon lights like the INFORCE WML and various pistol lights in a more ergonomically advantageous position. It cantilever’s the light out to the side of the rail and angles it so that it falls directly under your thumb.

Davis Tactical Solutions L.I.N.C.H. Cover

There have been a handful of attempts to create drop-in left side charging handles for the AK and, for the most part, they have all been met with a lot of skepticism. I recently came across a new option that appears to have a lot going for it – the L.I.N.C.H. Cover from Davis Tactical Solutions (DTS).

The L.I.N.C.H. Cover starts with a Bulgarian top cover. DTS cuts a channel into the top cover and reinforces it.They fit an FN FAL folding charging handle with a charging pin to the track. They also add a detent to the charging handle so that it won’t fold under recoil.

There are 3 notable features of the L.I.N.C.H. Cover that show a lot of potential. The opening that is cut into the top cover is minimal compared to other designs which should minimize the potential for debris to enter the action. The charging handle does not reciprocate which is a positive for those who would rather not have a mass of steel hurtling toward their teeth. Finally, it is completely redundant so that if something goes wrong, the original right side charging handle is still completely functional.

This is the first left-side charging handle for the AK family of rifles to really pique my interest. If DTS comes out with a non-folding model, I will have a hard time resisting one.
