Down Range Gear Safariland 6004 Thumb Break Kit

If you like the durability of Safariland’s heavy kydex holsters but also prefer a simpler retention system, the Down Range Gear Safariland 6004 Thumb Break Kit may be for you. It installs on Safariland 6004, 6280, 6285, and similar holsters without permanent modification and replaces the SLS system with a simpler thumb break strap.

Check it out at Down Range Gear.

SCAR QD RL MOUNT-N-SLOTs from IWC

The sling attachment points on the SCAR don’t agree with some shooters… okay, most shooters. In fact, I don’t know a single person who is using the stock sling attachment points without some form of modification. Impact Weapons Components wasn’t about to stand by while SCAR shooters suffered. They developed the SCAR QD RL MOUNT-N-SLOTs to make the factory sling mounts easier to live with.

The SCAR QD RL MOUNT-N-SLOTs are machined from 303 stainless steel and Melonite treated. They bolt directly to the factory sling loops. They provide QD sling swivel sockets to replace the hooks that must be used with the standard loops.

There are two versions of the SCAR QD RL MOUNT-N-SLOT that can be combined based on the shooter’s handedness. If you are right handed you can use two of the “front and left rear” model. If you are left handed you will need one of the “front and left hand” model and one of the “right rear” model.

Check out the SCAR QD RL MOUNT-N-SLOT at Impact Weapons Components and remember to use the code “triggerjerk” for 5% off your order.

Latest Images and Info on the ROSCH Works SLM1

ROSCH Works released images of the SLM1 pilot production batch and it looks like a winner.

Rosch Works SLM1 Pilot Production 3

The SLM1 is a light mount that incorporates a fixed front sight base. It is designed to be mounted on the top rail of an AR-15’s extended hand guard rail to provide the user with both a fixed front sight and an advantageous 12 o’clock lighting position. It is the first mount of its kind that allows the use of a standard tube bodied tactical light to mounted in this position.

I now know additional details including that the body of the mount is made from 7075 T1 aluminum that is hard anodized. The remaining components are black oxide coated 4140 steel. The production versions will ship with the wrenches required to mount and adjust the SLM1.

Some SLM1s from this initial pilot production batch will likely go up for sale later this week. This particular version is designed for use with the Surefire Fury (it may work with other lights). Additional versions for use with other lights may be in the works at a later date. Check out ROSCH Works.
