MSM Bottle Corset

There are a ton of different water bottles on the market and you are like me, you have accumulated several of them over the years. it can be a real pain in the rear to find a good solution for carrying all of them so you end up with bottles that you either don’t use because you lack a decent pouch for them or you have to keep them somewhere that is less than ideal – like buried in your pack. If that sounds familiar, Mil-Spec Monkey is about to make your day with the Bottle Corset.

The MSM Bottle Corset is the most adjustable bottle holder that I have seen. I have had one in hand for a few weeks and I haven’t found a bottle that it won’t fit. I have used it with several different sizes and shapes of Nalgene bottles, several sizes of Camelbak Better Bottles, and even the throw-away 20 ounce bottles that you get at the store.

The Bottle Corset makes good use of shock cord so that it is extremely adjustable and flexible. It is adjustable for depth and also features a retainer cord that can be configured a number of different ways. It is MOLLE compatible and mounts via the included MALICE clips.

This pouch is versatile enough to be used to store 2 magazines in pinch. However, care should be taken because the pouch will lose tension once one of the magazines is removed.

RE Factor Tactical Pelican Case Insert Combination

If you use a Pelican case to transport your rifles, pay close attention to the next several sentences and pry your credit card out of your wallet in advance because this is really, really cool. RE Factor Tactical has created the Pelican Case Insert Combination which is essentially a PALS webbing/loop Velcro covered panel that can be secured in the top lid of your case.

The panel replaces the top level of foam. It can easily be swapped for the foam since it is mounted via large Velcro strips. These panels add a ton of organization potential to a case that has no organization features on its own. This looks pretty handy.

MSM Adapt Pack

msm-adapt-pack-010I have been wanting to tell you all about Mil-Spec Monkey (MSM) Adapt Pack for weeks and now I finally can! This MSM/Tactical Tailor collaboration is based on the Tactical Tailor Removable Operator Pack (ROP). The Adapt Pack keeps everything that makes the ROP great intact and, in true Monkey style, adds some very slick functionality.

The Adapt Pack is identical in size and quality of construction. The size of the ROP and its derivatives is one of its best attributes. It straddles the line between EDC bag, day hike bag, and assault bag perfectly. The Adapt Pack also retains the ability to be docked onto a larger bag or plate carrier and includes all the necessary hardware to accomplish this.

There are a handful of differences between the Adapt Pack and ROP that revolve around the idea of making the Adapt Pack, well… more adaptable. It is cleverly designed to work in either traditional 2 strap backpack configuration or as a single strap sling bag with stabilizer strap. The sternum strap has an extra removable female side release buckle. This buckle can be moved to either pack strap (fully ambidextrous) to serve as a docking point for the opposite pack strap. You’ll want to watch the video to see how it works. It is extremely seamless and the transition can actually be done while you are wearing the pack.

The single strap configuration offers the capability of being able to pull the pack around to your front to access its contents. To support this capability, the front pouch on the Adapt Pack has been modified to allow access from either side. The interior now features a large loop Velcro panel so that you can add items like Blue Force Gear Dappers or other Velcro backed pouches. You can actually mount magazine pouches inside this pouch and fight out of it like a chest rig.

I have had one of these for several weeks and I am thrilled with it. I am glad I can finally tell you about it. Stay tuned for a full review. In the mean time, check out the MSM Adapt Pack at MilSpecMonkey.com.
