Oneiros Valley Mean Pad – In Stock

Oneiros Valley understands the Mystery Ranch NICE Frame like no one else. There are 2 main criticisms of the otherwise excellent frame – the short stay height and the flat back contour – and Oneiros Valley has set out to address them both. They addressed the frame height with the LLP (which I previously reviewed) and they have addressed the flat back with the Mean Pad (previously mentioned here).

The Mean Pad is an accessory lumber pad for the NICE Frame that serves a few purposes based on how it is used. For the typical hunter/hiker, it serves to add comfort and support in the lower back area. For the military user, it can serve to fill in the gap under hard armor and allow the hip belt to transfer weight to the hips for effectively.

The level of padding is adjustable. The hiker/hunter may need only a small amount of padding while the military user will likely need all the padding they can get to over come their issues with body armor.

The MEAN Pad is available in two versions. Both can be installed without permanent modifications to your NICE Frame. The Hunter version attached via ladderlocks while the Military version uses side release buckles which are slightly heavier but easier to install and uninstall.

Check out MEAN Pad at Oneiros Valley. It is in stock and ready to ship.

Sneaky Bags Demos and New Products

Sneaky Bags recently posted some videos that demonstrate how a few of their products work (below) and show two new products: the Nautilus and the Spyder. The Nautilis is an EDC capable sling bag with a concealed carry compartment. The Spyder is a compact, more discreet take on the CRB that is even better suited to discreet daily carry with a PDW or SBR with folding stock.

The Nautilus and Spyder can be seen in the top center of this picture.

Look for information about the new bags soon. Check out Sneaky Bags.

Current Camo Seat Covers

Current Camo makes custom seat covers for just about any vehicle. I have seen other “tactical” seat covers before but none that offer the number of design choices that Current Camo offers.

They start with Cover King seat covers and then perform a number of custom modifications to your spec. There are 7 surfaces on the covers that you can customize with items like MOLLE panels, Velcro panels, removable MOLLE panels that mount to Velcro, removable nylon pouches, elastic mesh pouches, soft weapon mounts, and more. The color/camo options include solid colors, two tone, Kryptek, A-TACS, Multicam, Mossy Oak, and more.

I think I need to outfit Tactical Grocery Getter Mk1 Mod1 with some killer seat covers! Check out Current Camo and see their Facebook page for tons of pictures of their actual covers.

BFG UWL for Left Handed AK Shooters

It can be a bit of a challenge to mount a sling on an AK-47 (or AK-74) for the left-handed shooter. The rear sling point can usually be worked with but the front sling attachment point isn’t very forgiving for lefties. I have helped a few left handed shooters set up AKs and I always recommend using a Blue Force Gear UWL to turn the standard handguard cap hook mount into a lefty-friendly sling attachment point.

I first noticed Larry Vickers using the UWL in this way shortly after they came out. It is the best solution that I have seen for left handed AK shooters. Now, Blue Force Gear has been kind enough to make a video showing how it works.

Snake Eater Tactical Burro Magazine Pouches

There are kydex magazine pouches and there are elastic magazine pouches. Snake Eater Tactical’s Burro magazine pouches combine both into the same pouch.

The body of the Burro magazine pouches is constructed from 5″ heavy duty elastic which offers solid retention and allows it to adapt to a variety of magazines of similar shape and size. Snake Eater Tactical adds a curved kydex insert that adds structure and keeps pouch slightly open when open to make inserting a magazine easier. When the magazine is removed, the pouch lays mostly flat and out of the way. They are MOLLE compatible and come with MALICE Clips.

The Burro magazine pouches are available for both double stack pistol magazines and 5.56 rifle magazines.
