Don’t Stop Now

The ATF has apparently heard you. They released a Special Advisory today as a response to all of the comments they have been receiving regarding their attempt at banning one of the most common and available types of ammo for one of the most common and available types of firearms – M855.

You can read the entire text at the ATF website.

This is my favorite part: “Although ATF endeavored to create a proposal that reflected a good faith interpretation of the law…” I think that by “good faith” they meant to say “willfully inaccurate, brazenly unconstitutional, and politically expedient”.

Synopsis: “We still want to ban M855, but maybe we’ll just wait a bit longer.”

Do not stop making your voice heard now. Keep the pressure on. It is EXTREMELY easy to contact both the ATF and your elected officials.

Snake Eater Tactical Belt Design Update

Snake Eater Tactical makes some excellent belts. I have used one of their Cobra Rigger’s Belts for years and I am currently trying one of their SET War Belts. Both have been excellent products.

They recently updated the design of their belts to remove the hook and loop material that secures the belt tail. Their reasoning behind this move is that the hook and loop is the weakest link in a quality belt. Its tendency to wear out is the only thing that prevents the belt from lasting forever. I have owned many webbing gun belts over the years and in my experience they are correct.

They are now using a keeper that is sewn into the belt to secure the tail. The keeper can not be lost because it is sewn in between the layers of the belt. It is secured in such a way that it can move along the length of the belt a short distance in order to secure varying lengths of belt tail.

VEIL Solutions Pocket Carry Strut

VEIL Solutions has developed a pointed strut that bolts on to their standard Apex and Ghost holsters without modification to convert the holster to pocket carry configuration. The strut serves to ensure that the handgun and holster stay upright in the pocket and to catch the pocket so the holster breaks free of the handgun during your draw stroke.

The real limiting factor of a setup like this is the size of your pockets. It seems to be especially well suited to VEIL Solutions’ very compact VS Ghost Holster for the Glock 42.
