GunfightersINC – Introducing the Kenai Scoped Hunter

From Adam Harris, Owner, GunfightersINC

At GunfighterslNC we have always prioritized customer feedback and demand into our design process. We consider it to be a valuable tool in both honing our existing products as well deciding where to spend our research and development time. So, in short, you ask for it, we deliver, and we deliver it right.

We are proud to introduce the long awaited Scoped Revolver Holster!

We wanted to maximize scope coverage and protection without being bulky. The scope cover was designed and re-designed at least a half dozen times before we were happy with it. We settled on 22 oz HEX70 XL which is a 70 denier nylon designed specifically for high strength, durability, and superior abrasion resistance. This is sewn over a elastic core to give a slight amount of stretch to conform to the scopes shape and position.

The scope cover needed to be able to conform to the various ways a scope can be mounted and be as simple as possible to minimize bulk and failure points. To accomplish this we decided on 1/4 inch shock cord woven through the length of the scope cover and joined with a large pull tab which is easy to grasp even with a gloved hand.

The cord attaches to the front shell using a marine grade nylon impregnated composite hook (used in sailboat racing) which is hard riveted on, so it won’t degrade over time and is impervious to the elements. The result of all that is a scope cover that will stand the test of time, doesn’t need adjustment to provide tension and looks the business.

The Scoped Hunter is available for most revolver platforms at this time, in both right and left hand draw. Models offered are: S&W X Frame, N Frame, L Frame, Ruger Redhawk\Super Redhawk, Ruger Blackhawk/Super Blackhawk and the Taurus Raging Hunter. More models will be added based on customer demand.

I hope that you enjoy it!

Woodknot Gear Introduces Larger 900ml Size Press

We’ve mentioned Woodknot Gear Presses on these pages before. They are basically titanium cookpots with a built-in coffee press. Previously, the Woodknot Gear Press was only available in a 750ml size. Now they have introduced a new 900ml version.

The 900ml version is large enough that it can serve as a cookpot/coffee press for two. Many users will likely be interested in these for their coffee press functionality but they actually have a combination of features that is desirable but hard to find in outdoor cook pots. This includes butterfly handles, a bail that can be retained in the upright position, and a pour spout. So, even if you are less interested in coffee, you may find that the Woodknot Gear Presses have the features you are looking for in a bush/hiking pot.

Criterion Barrels Introduces CORE Series for AR-15

Criterion Barrels has launched a new AR-15 barrel profile that they are calling their CORE series. The barrels feature a continuous taper from front to rear. The muzzle end is similar in diameter and weight to a government contour but the barrel tapers wider toward the breech end. This results in a barrel that is relatively light in weight, balances well, and that has enough material where necessary to deal with heat.

Criterion states:

Our CORE Series barrels are designed with tactical shooters in mind. These barrels are built to address issues with weight distribution, balance, and handling of traditional profiles, while increasing performance through consistent harmonics and uniform heat dissipation.

The CORE Series feature a modern, continuous taper profile that eliminates steps and harsh variations in diameter. The steel is redistributed where it is needed most: surrounding the chamber. Added weight over the chamber absorbs heat evenly during hard use and moves the balance of the rifle closer to the body for increased control. This is optimal for maintaining balance when used with modern accessories like Low Power Variable Optics (LPVO’s), weapon-mounted lights, suppressors, clip-on night vision devices, and IR lasers; these components boost the capabilities of the rifle, but can hinder the shooter’s performance by increasing front-end weight. The front end of the CORE Series remains light and fast for better handling, balance, and speed.

The CORE Series helps you handle real-world applications by maintaining exceptional performance and rugged reliability during hard use. These barrels work for you wherever mobility is a priority and performance is essential.

The CORE series barrels are available with rifle length gas in 18″ and 20″ lengths. They are also available with midlength gas with 13.9″, 14.5″ and 16″ lengths. Finally, they are available with carbine length gas system in 10.5″, 11.5″, and 12.5″ lengths. All CORE series barrels are made from 4150 CrMoV steel, chrome lined, with a 1 in 8″ twist, and a Wylde chamber.

New from TOPS Knives: Earth Skills Knives

The Earth Skills Knife was designed by Matt Graham, who is much more than just a “survivalist”. He is an athlete – ultra-marathons, triathlons, rock climbing, etc., a martial artist – several styles, and an expert in primitive weapons, hunting, and shelters. He has more “dirt time” than almost anyone else out there.

In keeping with the same theme as his first design through TOPS (the Little Bugger). It’s thin with TOPS’; modified Scandi grind, a tumble finish and tan canvas Micarta handle scales. This one comes with a deep carry brown leather sheath that Matt designed based off some old Native American styles of sheath. It is meant to ride cross-draw, underneath the belt, towards the back side of the wearer.

Please keep in mind, the stock of this tool is 1/8″ thick. Therefore, uses like batoning are not recommended and bent blades due to that type of use will not be covered under the warranty. It is meant for the types of uses you would normally get from a machete.
