New from TOPS Knives: Street Scalpel 2 and Devil’s Claw 2

TOPS Knives just refreshed two of its classic knife offerings, the Street Scalpel and the Devil’s Claw. Both of these knives have served as popular, compact, self-defense oriented fixed blade knives in the TOPS line up for years.

Street Scalpel 2

The Street Scalpel has been around for quite a few years now. LEOs, active duty military, and everyday citizens love it because it’s narrow, easy to conceal, stout and strong, and looks great too. The Street Scalpel 2.0 has all the great features of the original, with some changes to offer variety (the original is not being retired). The handle has been slightly redesigned to offer more of a finger guard and the blade steel was thinned to 3/16” to offer a finer edge.

Devil’s Claw 2

The Original Devil’s Claw was designed to be a deep conceal knife with a handle that is short on purpose for concealment in almost any outfit. Of course, the design was so reminiscent of karambits that it was only a matter of time before it got a makeover to become one. The hawk bill blade shape is a proven design for utility and defense tactics. The longer handle with the ring on the end provides the user with options that aren’t available with the original version (just remember the trade-off is that the new version is slightly more difficult to conceal).

Hater Holsters

Finding Hater Holsters on Instagram yesterday was a highlight of my day. They are obviously having fun with their company as you can tell from their tagline: “We only make holsters for Hi Points. Holster maker to the poors.”

That’s right. They only make holsters for Hi Points. To be more exact, they make the Mullet IWB and OWB and Hipster IWB and OWB holsters for Hi Points. They come in a variety of colors and off-the-wall prints that make it obvious that Hater Holsters doesn’t take itself too seriously.

All the self-aware jokes are great but it should also be noted Hater Holsters is serving a really underserved portion of the handgun market and that the Mullet IWB has the hallmarks of a quality, modern kydex holster. The holster appears to be vacuum pressed on a machined form. It achieves excellent mold definition and blocking. This is a serious holster at an affordable price (as low as $30).

What The? Shirt from Atibal

If you think internet gun experts are bad, wait until you see the ones they put on TV! Feast your eyes:

We have reached full telephone game levels of hilarity with these TV experts. There must have been an original TV firearms expert somewhere back in human history. Science refers to him as the “proto-fudd”. Proto-fudd said something dumb about firearms on TV and every TV gun expert since then has been repeating the same garbage with bits and pieces lost in translation until now. This is the only way to explain the video above.

Atibal turned those quotable quotes into a t-shirt. You can get at Atibal.com.

Deadman Morale Patch – Stickthison.com

Stickthison.com’s latest patch, the Deadman Morale Patch, features some layered, biting commentary on today’s political climate and the willingness of some to hand over their rights. As their description states: “Planning on others to protect you isn’t a good plan.”

The patch art is reminiscent of an iconic brand of long cut chewing tobacco. Which seems to add more depth to the commentary given the government’s past treatment of certain people groups.

These patch runs tend to sell out quickly so act fast if you want one.

MOLLE Use and Care Video – OV Innovations

OV Innovations uploaded the MOLLE Use and Care video that was originally produced to support the introduction of the MOLLE II system to YouTube. The video is clearly ripped from VHS and is likely to incite instant and severe feelings of nostalgia for those who remember VHS cassettes.

As you watch it, be sure to pause to review and practice what you’ve learned.
