Colonel Blades just rolled out their newest and most concealable fixed blade yet. It features the same 2.75″ blade that can be found on the NCO LowVz but the grip is a full 1″ shorter for improved concealment. Like other blades in the NCO line, the new NoVz features machined G-10 handle slabs and AUS-8 steel. It comes with a kydex sheath with an IWB belt clip suitable for center-line carry.
Bastion’s new Battle Axe has the kind of features-to-value ratio that we have come to expect from them. It features full-tang, D2 steel construction with G-10 handle slabs. The slabs are black and the steel is given a durable black PVD finish to match.
The cutting bit has a generous relief cut behind it for choking up on the handle for fine work. The spike on the back of the poll can be used for puncturing or drilling.

We recently gave you a sneak peak of a new medical pack coming from Emergent Rescue Systems and Zulu Nylon Gear. Now we have additional details that we can share.
The pack’s official name is the HRE or High Risk Entry MED Pack and it’s design has sprung out of the minds and hands of people who know a thing or two about delivering aid in the field and making gear. Emergent Rescue Systems president and founder Chris Richards sent me the following:
Hugh Coffee, Ditch Medicine Founder, and I started talking about creating a pack several years ago based on his 30 years of experience in wilderness/SWAT medicine, observed capability gaps during our joint LE training, evidence-based medicine from GWOT, and my 15 years in the medical device business. We sketched the first prototype 2.5 years ago and Darrin Talbott from Extreme Gear Labs built the first pack. Zulu Nylon Gear is running our ongoing production. All of this allows us to bring to market an experience/evidence based pack with the highest quality nylon engineering.
It’s an ideal pack for SWAT/tactical medics, combat mission specifics, confined space rescues, and active threat response.

Midwest Industries’ (MI) new Ultra Light Weight Handguards are now available. Several of MI’s handguards are already relatively light weight but they have taken additional weight reduction measures with these.
The MI-ULW feature M-LOK compatible slots at the 3, 6, 9, and 12 o’clock positions. The top rail has short sections of standard picatinny rail at the receiver (3 slot) and muzzle end (5 slot) with M-LOK slots in between to reduce weight. The sides of the top rail has been drilled with a series of small holes along the entire length to further reduce weight.
These handguard have a 1.5″ outside diameter and 1.3″ inside diameter. They are machined from 6061 aluminum, deburred and dehorned, and finished with hard anodizing. The MI-ULW is available in several lengths, all of which come with everything necessary to mount the handguards including tools.
