Limitless Gear OPFOR Magazine Pouch

It seems like every time I turn around there is another great project to crowd fund and I am not complaining. One of the latest and most interesting crowd funding efforts is the OPFOR Magazine Pouch from Limitless Gear.

It may look like other plastic magazine pouches on the market but it has a couple of very interesting features that really set it apart. The first is a plastic, leaf-spring like structure that actively retains the magazines. The retention is positive enough to allow the magazine to be retained when the OPFOR is mounted inverted and actually requires a slight twist to release the magazine.

The second unique feature is very, very slick. In fact, it wouldn’t surprise me to see something like this licensed to other manufacturers. The OPFOR mounts to a 2×2 PALS grid or stacked on each other by way of a very easy to mount, sliding mechanism. It is like a QD system for PALS webbing and it makes changing the location of the OPFORs nearly effortless.

As with most crowd funding efforts, there can be benefits to getting in on the ground level. Check out the indiegogo campaign and the Limitless Gear website.

Deliberate Dynamics GEN2 Plate Carrier

The Deliberate Dynamics GEN2 Plate Carrier looks like it could be ideal for armed citizens, like myself, who own armor. Users like me don’t always have a need for a lot of load carriage features. However, it can be nice to have the ability to scale up the load carriage potential of the plate carrier if the need arises.

The GEN2 Plate Carrier features a very low-profile design. The form fitting cummerbund is designed to stay clear of your drawstroke from concealment. The shoulder straps pull forward to adjust (a nice touch) and fairly low profile.

There is loop material on the top center and lower front of the plate pocket for attaching pouches, patches, or ID. You can purchase an optional color-matched Blue Force Gear Ten-Speed Triple M4 Pouch with the plate carrier.

The top sides of the front plate pocket feature attachment points for ITW QASM buckles. This allows the user to mount a chest rig should they need to carry additional gear.

The Deliberate Dynamics GEN2 Plate Carrier is available in Black or Coyote Brown from DeliberateDynamics.com.

G3 APPAREL Camo Pantone Shirts

I have been following the folks at G3 Blog for some time now. I can’t always read what they write (I don’t speak French) but their videos and photography are excellent. Apparently, their design sense is also excellent because they recently announced some awesome t-shirt designs that made the camo nerd in me go weak in the knees.

The shirts feature the name of various well-known camo patterns like Woodland and AOR1 along with swatches Pantone colors that the camo patterns contain. Its appears that these shirts started as a project by G3 Blog to apply the Pantone color matching system to several camo patterns. It is fascinating how different the colors look when displayed in this simplistic way. These shirts are fascinating, attractive, and kind of nerdy all at the same time. I think they are awesome.

As if the shirts aren’t cool enough, check out their care tag (shown below)!
