Exos Defense

The TI-7 Stock is an excellent piece of equipment but it has suffered something of a branding crisis. It is manufactured under the Tactical Intent brand that belongs to Molding Solutions, an experienced molding company out of Lexington, Kentucky. However, when you see it for sale at various retailers, it is often listed incorrectly as being manufactured by a number of different places like Double Star Arms or Red Jacket Arms.

Exos Defense

In order to reign in all of the branding issues and to create a new brand under which they can expand their product line. Molding Solutions, is creating a new company called Exos Defense. Their website is currently just a PDF catalog but the entire site should be online soon.

If the TI-7 Stock and their KWIKGUARD Rail Covers are any indication, you will want to keep an eye on Exos Defense.

Tacprogear Adds Multicam

B-SAP1-4

Tacprogear is rolling out Multicam options across much of their product line. Several items are already available and more are in the pipeline. While their products are assembled overseas, the Multicam fabric is US made and their hardware is top-notch (YKK zippers, ITW hardware, etc.). I have been in touch with the folks behind Tacprogear and they have some very promising products in the works, so stay tuned.

Fight and Flight Tactical Severs Ties with 72 Tactical

LLAMA PackMany of you are familiar with the pack formerly known as the Skinny Sasquatch. It is somewhat like an up-sized version of the Fight and Flight Tactical Defilade Pack with a ton of additional features that make it very scalable. The pack is designed and manufactured by Fight and Flight Tactical and it was distributed by 72 Tactical.

Due to some serious issues, Fight and Flight Tactical has cut ties with 72 Tactical. I won’t air out all the details at this time but the following image that alleges IP theft is currently making its way around Facebook and it appears to me to be just the tip of the iceberg.

PlateCat

Whenever something like this happens, there is likely to be a lot of back tracking, double talk, and supporters from both sides lining up to defend their favorite gear maker. It will take a long time to sort this out fully, if it is ever fully sorted out. The plate carrier issue above is not the only, or even the most serious, alleged issue with 72 Tactical. The most important details to come out of this is:

The Skinny Sasquatch will now be called the LLAMA Pack (Long-range, Low-Profile, Adaptable, Mission, Assault Pack). The packs will still be made in-house at Fight and Flight Tactical and distribution will move in-house as well. These will be on the Fight and Flight Tactical website soon. Stay tuned for more details on the pack as they are available and a full review.

UPDATE: The LLAMA Pack is now available at FightandFlight.com.

Two New Advertising Partners: Katylist and SHTF Gear

JTT has been blessed with the addition of two new advertising partners. These are the types of companies that I am proud to have on board here at JTT.

Katylist

Katylist may be new but the people behind it are not. Katylist.com is basically Shellback Tactical’s hard armor site but it will not be limited to hard armor. They will also carry exclusive gear from Shellback Tactical, soft armor, self-aid gear, and more. They have already added several items from Eleven-10 including their excellent Kydex Tourniquet Pouches and they are running a sale on their Level IV Stand Along plates for just 169.95!

SHTF Gear

I recently had the opportunity to review the ACE-1 Holster from SHTF Gear and I was thrilled with it. The quality is excellent and it carries very comfortably.

SHTF Gear ACE Glock 19

In fact, I recently took a family vacation to a small town known for being very outdoor oriented. I knew I would be walking/hiking a lot so I took my normal carry setup, a Glock 19 in the ACE-1, and an airweight small frame revolver in a “summer special” style IWB holster. I wore the small frame revolver for the first day thinking it would be more comfortable due its small size and lighter weight but by the afternoon, I was ready to be done. I swapped it out for the G19 in the ACE-1 Holster and found that it was far more comfortable than even the compact, lightweight revolver. I wore it for several days more with no discomfort at all in spite of the heat and plenty of movement.

On top of that, SHTF Gear has the most transparent ordering process of any holster company that I have used. They update their site daily with the average lead time from the day before and send you updates as your holster moves through the production process.

These are the types of companies that JTT is happy to recommend without reservation. Consider checking out theirs and all the sponsor’s sites. They help keep the lights on here at JTT and I can personally recommend each of them.
