Balisong knives (AKA Butterfly knives), in spite of their vilified reputation, are very easy to open with one hand and have a very strong “lock” which makes them great for a variety of uses. The Microtech Tachyonne is one of the all-time classic production-made balisongs. It has been unavailable for a few years but now it is back in the form of the BladeHQ exclusive Microtech Tachyon II.
The Tachyon II boasts a 4.5″ long 154CM blade with either a bowie (clip point) or tanto blade profile. The handles are skeletonized titanium and, if they are anything like the original Tachyon, they are flip extremely well.
