Christensen Arms VTAC-15

Kyle Lamb of Viking Tactics and Christensen Arms have developed the new VTAC-15, a lightweight carbine that is heavy on features. It weighs less than 6 pounds in spite of the fact that it has several features that you would not normally associate with a lightweight AR like a 15″ free float rail, a lower with a flared magazine well, a 16″ match grade barrel, and more.

Viking Tactics Transition Drill

Viking Tactics provides a wealth of drills on their Youtube channel that you can incorporate into your range routine. The latest video that they posted is interesting not only for the drill, the Transition Drill, but for an interesting piece of gear that makes an appearance.

The Transition Drill has the shooter transitioning not only between strong side and weak side but also between yard lines and from primary to secondary. There is a lot of transitioning going on with an emphasis on balancing speed and accuracy at various distances. This certainly appears to be a very challenging drill (in spite of how easy Kyle Lamb makes it look).

The video also provides a tantalizing look at a new optic from Leupold called the LCO. It appears to be a red dot sight and Leupold has trademarked the LCO but that is pretty much all I know. Viking Tactics often seems to have new Leupold optics to test before anyone so this may be something hitting shelves soon. It would be nice to see Leupold finally bring a competitive, USA made RDS to market.

VTAC FUSION Compatible Hubs

VTAC has launched a line of Hubs that are compatible with the suite of FUSION mounting products from Unity Tactical. There are two hubs available: the rail mounted Micro Hub and the direct mounted Tubular Hub.

VTAC FUSION Hub

VTAC Micro Hub

The Micro Hub can be mounted to any 1913 picatinny rail and has two mounting locations to allow the user to place the FUSION mounting products as needed.

VTAC Tubular Hub

VTAC Micro and Tubular Hub

The Tubular Hub can be mounted to most slick rails and has a single mounting location for FUSION mounting products. It can also be used to cantilever the mounted accessory forward of the rail.

Troy/VTAC Delta Rail

The original Troy Industries Delta Rail is a great free float rail option for those of you who want an extended rail but are stuck with a fixed front sight base and carbine length gas system. It can even be installed without removing the muzzle device so it is perfect for those with permanently attached muzzle devices. Friend of JTT, Jon L, has one that he likes very much. I have been able to check it out in person and the way it attaches to your carbine with no modifications whatsoever is absolutely ingenious.

Now there is a new VTAC version of the Delta Rail that sports the recognizable elongated cooling holes for which the VTAC rails are known. It is available in black or FDE. You can check out the Troy/VTAC Delta Rail on VikingTactics.com or TroyInd.com.

Viking Tactics Brokos Battle Belt

The new VTAC Brokos Belt has an interesting feature that I have never seen before on a battle belt. The MOLLE webbing is broken into 2×2 panels which allows you to thread the belt under or over a panel. This allows users to mount both MOLLE and belt mounted pouches. That is some serious innovation.

It also makes more use of mesh than I have ever seen in a battle belt. The pay off is that it weighs less than 8 ounces and should breath better than any other battle belt that I have used. The use of 500 denier nylon also helps keep the weight down.

Kudos to Kyle Lamb and VTAC for bringing some truly new and exciting features to the battle belt concept.

It is available on the VTAC website for pre-order.
