Snake Hound Machine Update

Snake Hound Machine (SHM) is anticipating making a big splash in 2013. They are kicking off their year at the SHOT Show where 2 of their custom AK-47s will be on display in the Mission First Tactical booth (#11966) and with a brand new website.

They will be offering three different models this year, each limited to just 25 pieces. The Ultimate Battle Rifle is SHM’s flagship. It is an AK built to offer flat top functionality. The Recon Lightweight Tactical is their mid level AK package that still has a fairly extensive list of features and the M63 AKM is the basic AKM pattern carbine that they build in house.

In addition to the AKs, they will also be introducing a Remington 870 package.

American Spring Kit for AKs

Snake Hound Machine is offering a spring kit for the AK pattern rifles. Building spare parts kits for AKs can be a bit challenging because of all the various countries of origins and limited supply of parts. A good spring kit is one of the few spare items that can be purchased relatively easily and will fit a wide variety of AK pattern rifles.

The Snake Hound Machine American Spring Kit contains US made chrome silicon springs that are manganese phosphate coated for corrosion resistance. These are the same springs that they use in their custom builds.

SHM Appendectomy Low Pro Holster

When you think of appendix carry, you typically think of inside-the-waistband holsters. Snake Hound Machine (SHM) wants to change that with their Appendectomy Low Pro Holster.

The Appendectomy is a Kydex outside-the-waistband that is designed to be carried in the appendix position. It rides very high and is canted aggressively. SHM claims that it rides very close to the body that it “conceals like an IWB with out the discomfort associated with IWB holsters.” Like all appendix carry holsters, it offers an easier draw with the support hand than tradition holsters.

The Appendectomy Low Pro Holster is available for a number of popular compact handguns like the GLOCK 26/27, S&W M&P Shield, Ruger LCP, and others. It is also available in several colors and multiple belt sizes.
