Beez Combat Systems recently added a new blog post with additional details about the design rationale of their BALCS LVR armor carrier. The post also includes a YouTube video from a reviewer who is using the BALCS LVR in conjunction with a Haley Strategic Partners D3 Chest Rig. If I had BALCS cut armor, I would be taking a really hard look at this set up.

The Camelbak Antidote hydration bladders are pretty slick. The short version is extremely compact and requires a dedicated hydration carrier to get the most out of it which is exactly what the new BCS Hydration Carrier Short is built to do.

The Hydration Carrier Short is designed to be a simple carrier that capitalizes on the benefits of the Antidote carriers, namely their smaller size and increased stability thanks to its center baffle. It’s shorter height makes it ideal for use on armor and plate carriers. It has a wide (5 columns) PALS field on the back so that it is extremely stable when attached to its host.

The Hydration Carrier Short has a large hook and loop secured flap with a massive loop field for affixing patches and ID. It also has a drainage grommet and internal webbing to serve as an adjustable hanger.

There are several different soft armor cuts out there on the market and it can sometimes be difficult to find a carrier that works with whatever cut you happen to have. 1. Trace your soft armor panels (the panels, not the carrier) on the back of a gun bunny poster (any paper will do but they prefer gun bunny posters) and then cut them out.
2. Mark each cutout with “front” or “back” respectively, your contact info (name, phone number, email address, mailing address), rifle plate size if applicable, stab plate size if applicable, internal hook or loop material, Velcro field placement for ID/patches, any other options you want, and the brand and size information of the panels if you can provide it.
3. Record your height, weight, chest, and waist measurements on one of the cutouts.
4. Fold the cutouts and place them into an envelope with the above form.
5. Email BCS to let them know that the cutouts are on their way.

After all that, you just sit back and weight for a shiny new armor carrier to show up. Easy.

One of the best things about small companies is that they can create products that larger companies might not find worth while.
