MFCR+complete

The Micro Fight is kind of like a clever cross between a plate carrier kangaroo pocket and a chest rig. It accepts magazine inserts like a kangaroo pocket so that the magazine load can be tailored to the specific weapon being supported. The entire interior of the chest rig is lined with Velcro which the user a lot of flexibility.

The front of the Micro Fight has a large admin pocket. It is secured with a large flap and features sewn-in elastic organization loops that can hold magazines, flashlight, medical supplies, and similar items.

The chest rig is compatible with the industry standard SwiftClip system found on many plate carriers. This allows the user to dock the Micro Fight on a plate carrier. The back of the Micro Fight has a Velcro panel to aid in attaching it to a plate carrier. This Velcro panel can also be used to dock the optional S.A.C.K. to expand the Micro Fight’s capacity.

All of the components of the Micro Fight are available for purchase separately or together as a package. Inserts are available for both 5.56 and 7.62 magazines. Check out the Micro Fight Chest Rig at Spiritus Systems.

Crowdfund This: BeerRambit Multi-Tool Kickstarter

The original BeerRambits were the creation of Lake County Knife & Tool (LCKT). They were handmade from brass or titanium and they were very, very cool. The design was part bottle opener, part knuck, part kubotan, and part karambit. They were cool to look at but also a formidable impact tool. Now LCKT has a new BeerRambit design that isn’t quite as quaint but it takes the functionality of the tool to a new level.

They are attempting to crowdfund the production of the BeerRambit Multi-Tool and they are already basically fully funded with 19 days to go. This most recent version of the BeerRambit is machined from A2 tool steel and boasts a ton of new tricks. It features a slot cut into the ring that allows it to ride on your pocket, a pronounced prying edge that can also be used to break tape on packages thought it is not cutting sharp, a screwdriver bit retention slot, and a clever bit holder to turn the BeerRambit into a screwdriver with plenty of torque.

The campaign has just 1 perk – a BeerRambit Multi-Tool of your very own. Check it out at Kickstarter.

The Coolest Freebies You’ll See All Day – Andy’s Leather Shop 1911 Bumpers

I have picked up a few items from Andy’s Leather Shop over the years and there are always a few extra things tucked into the box. Andy has inventive ways using his leather scraps which he then tucks into orders for his customers to enjoy.

The coolest of the freebies are the leather 1911 magazine bumpers that he drops in the box. The thick leather pads can be glued to the base of a 1911 magazine to aid in seating the magazine and help cushion it’s fall during mag changes. The leather he uses is thick and resilient so they last a long time. These are a heck of a lot more classy than a thick black plastic bumper.

Andy used to sell these and would even mark them with numbers to help you track your mags but they are no longer listed on his site. As far as I can tell now, he just drops a few in every box. I suspect that, if you contact him, he would still sell them and even mark them for you.
