Angstadt Arms Releases Branded M-LOK Handguards

Angstadt Arms just released a new 5.5″ UDP Series Handguard. It is available for purchase separately or you can expect to see it as standard equipment on many UDP-9 Pistol and SBR builds going forward.

The new 5.5″ M-LOK UDP Series Handguard features a full length top rail and M-LOK compatible slots around the rest of its circumference. It also has QD sling swivel sockets on both the left and right sides of the handguard. The last ¾” of the handguard is bored out to 1.405”, allowing most aftermarket sound suppressors 1.39″ in diameter and smaller to tuck inside of the handguard when used with an exact length 6” barrel.

SIONICS Patrol Three-E

SIONICS Weapon Systems just let the cat out of the bag on their upcoming Patrol Three-E carbine. The new rifle shares the same quality as all their rifles but comes at a very affordable price thanks to some careful parts selection. This carbine will come with several features and add-ons not usually found on AR-15s at it’s $950 starting price.

The Patrol Three-E is the first carbine to come out of SIONICS wearing their new branded M-LOK compatible hand guard. It also comes standard with a SIONICS barrel – one of the parts that helped put SIONICS on the map. The grip and stock are from Magpul’s MOE-SL line and it even comes standard with a Sprinco spring!

Here is a more complete look at the specs:

  • SIONICS Barrel – 4150 CMV – Radiograph and MP Inspected

Strike Hard Gear SKS Buttstock Pouch

While many of us are busy building slick AR-15 builds, there are still plenty of good folks out there happy to hunt and defend their homes with the good old SKS. Maybe it is what they can afford or maybe they just like them. Either way, at least they are armed.

A friend of the blog who dearly loves his SKS recently asked me if I knew of a way to carry extra ammo (preferably in stripper clips) on his SKS hunting/truck rifle. He was having trouble finding any SKS support gear locally. I told him that I wasn’t sure but I suspect Strike Hard Gear would have a solution. Sure enough, they make an SKS Buttstock Pouch that holds 3 stripper clips. He purchased one and is very happy with it.

The Strike Hard Gear SKS Buttstock Pouch is designed to hold 3 10 round SKS stripper clips, fully covered, on the buttstock of your rifle. The pouch threads onto the buttstock in such a way that sling swivels are still usable. He reports that his reloads are faster now that the stripper clips are on the gun rather that in a pocket and that the quality is excellent.

I don’t write this to say that the SKS is the ultimate rifle but it should warm anyone’s heart to know that there are gear makers out there supporting affordable rifles with good quality gear.
