Ranger Green Benchmade Bugout – Blade HQ Exclusive

The Benchmade Bugout has become a massively popular option in the EDC folding knife market and it is easy to see why. The Bugout is extremely lightweight, slim, boasts an S30V blade, locks up via an Axis Lock, has a versatile blade shape, deep carry clip, and is at the low end of the Benchmade cost spectrum. I have recommended it to a number of people and the only real hangup has been the color. The Bugout has only been available in BRIGHT BLUE… until now.

Blade HQ is now offering an exclusive version of the Bugout with a more subdued palette. The handle is Ranger Green. The blade is coated smoked gray chromium nitride finish and most of the hardware is coated black. Some hardware, like the thumb stud and back spacers are anodized tan.

If you love the size, weight, and features of the Bugout but have been holding out for something more subdued in appearance, check out the Ranger Green Benchmade Bugout at Blade HQ (available to pre-order now).

Gadsden Dynamics Triple-G

The Triple-G, or Gadsden Grab ‘n’ Go, from Gadsden Dynamics looks different than just about any other piece of gear you’ve seen. This versatile kit is part bail out bag, part bandoleer, and part chest rig. It’s compact, versatile, and exactly the kind of thing you might want to pack with your “truck gun”.

The Triple-G is basically a panel with two rifle magazine pouches. The rifle mag pouches are the same tight fitting, open top design found on most of Gadsden Dynamics’ gear. The pouches are separated by a short gap that is the key to how the Triple-G can be folded into a compact package that is barely larger than the two magazines it can hold.

It has straps that allow it to be used as a compact chest rig or a bandoleer when it is unfolded. When it is folded, the straps and magazines are completely contained inside so it presents a low profile appearance. It looks innocuous enough when folded to not draw undue attention and it is small enough to easily fit inside a bug out bag or similar bag.

On top of all that, it is made by hand in the USA and costs $40.

Phokus Research Group Wound Cube

A good friend of the blog recently told me about his experience with the Phokus Research Group Wound Cube – a training aid in the form of a semi-transparent silicone cube with 4 common and realistic wound patterns molded into it. He was impressed.

The Wound Cube is designed to give students in a classroom setting, a chance to develop their skills at packing wounds. The different types of wounds offer the opportunity to pack 3 different gun shot wounds and 1 large laceration. The semi-transparent construction allows both the student and instructor to see the student’s work (especially when used with a flashlight). The durable construction allows the Wound Cube to be used over and over again.

Phokus Research Group offers a variety of different Wound Cube Packages from single Wound Cubes to entire classroom-ready kits. Check out the Wound Cube at PhokusResearch.com.
