Smith & Wesson “Shield Yourself” Teaser

Smith & Wesson is up to something. It appears that S&W has a new product release planned for April 12th. They have posted a teaser video and a daily picture on their Facebook page that is only available for a brief time. Here are the puzzle pieces so far…

I don’t know anything that you don’t. We can gather that whatever is coming is part of the ever expanding M&P line that encompasses everything from J-Frame Revolvers, to pocket autos, to full size handguns, and even AR-15s. That is a pretty broad range of products.

What do you think S&W is going to drop on April 12th?

HSGI Mag-Net

There is no shortage of dump pouches on the market so it takes some unique features to set a design apart from the crowd. The new HSGI Mag-Net brings a handful of those unique features and it certainly doesn’t look like anything else on the market.

The most noticeable difference between the Mag-Net and other dump pouches is that it is made of heavy duty mesh. This allows for items in the Mag-Net to be visible to the wearer and for the items inside to drain easily when wet or dirty. It also keeps the weight down.

The opening is reinforced 2 ways with vinyl tubing. The perimeter of the opening is reinforced with a loop of the tubing to allow it to stay open but still be folded and packed in a tight bundle. The opening also has two retention flaps that extend over the opening which are also reinforced with the tubing. This type of opening allows the user to quickly place a mag in the pouch while still offering decent retention once you are moving and the mags are bouncing around.

Like other pouches on the market, the Mag-Net folds up relatively small when not in use. The flap that holds the Mag-Net in a variety of colors but the mesh that makes up most of the body is available in more limited colors. Check out the Mag-Net on HSGI’s website.

Welcome Battle Systems

I have mentioned Battle Systems and their tape on JTT before. Their Vinyl Tape, Coyote Brown is a great product with about 10 million uses from silencing a zipper to managing the extra straps on a chest rig. It beats the electrical tape that you can buy at the big box stores by a mile.

One of our missions here at JTT is shine a spotlight on small companies that make great products. So, I am extremely glad to welcome Battle Systems, a small veteran owned company, as a partner here on JTT. Check out BattleSystemsLLC.com and their Facebook page for more information.

GEN123SC Grip Force Adapter

The newest Grip Force Adapter (GFA) has arrived! The new GEN123SC incorporates a couple of the custom modifications that users were doing by hand to their original GFAs. Grip Force Products took note and the result is the GEN123SC.

The GFA GEN123SC features a smooth beaver tail rather than the ridged one that is found on previous GFAs. Some shooters found the ridges on the original GFA to be irritating while shooting so they would remove them by hand. The GEN123SC is also shorter overall which makes it fit better on smaller than full-size Glocks like the G19.

The newest GFA is specifically designed for the Gen 1, 2, and 3 Glocks but it can also be fit to Gen 4 Glocks by installing it over the the medium backstrap. It can also be installed without a factory backstrap by placing it as usual and using RTV silicone as an adhesive.

The GEN123SC is available only as a package with either of the original GEN123 or GEN4 GFAs. Check out GripForceProducts.com for more information.

Blade-Tech MOLLE-LOK Gen 2

Blade-Tech has redesigned their MOLLE-LOKs to make them easier to use. I use the original MOLLE-LOKs but the closure system is a bit of a pain at times – especially in tight MOLLE columns. Now, with the MOLLE-LOK Gen 2, Blade-Tech appears to have greatly improved the closure system.

MOLLE-LOKs are extremely useful because they do not require weaving so they are very fast and easy to mount. This makes them ideal for pouches that you want to be able to move easily. I have used them on a compact IFAK pouch that like to move between a belt rig, chest rig, and plate carrier depending on the situation.

You can see the new MOLLE-LOK Gen 2 at Blade-Tech.com.
