TNVC Night Vision Operator’s Course

Tactical Night Vision Company (TMVC) offers excellent training in addition to their full line of night vision equipment. They recently announced that they are offering civilian Night Vision Operator’s Courses. This is a tremendous opportunity for those of you who own night vision equipment. There are very few courses of this kind available and even fewer (if any) are available to civilians.

The course can be conducted at a facility that is purpose built for this kind of training or it can also be delivered at your location. If you don’t own night vision equipment but are still interested in taking the course you can rent equipment from TNVC.

TNVC already offers some of the best customer service in the industry and it is courses like these that show TNVC’s commitment to the civilian night vision market. That should be commended. You can view more course details or register at the TNVC Training site.

Video Blog from Revision Shooter Max Michel

Having a great team can make life a lot easier. I am very glad to have Revision on my team as a partner. Revision is obviously very glad to have top notch competitive shooter Max Michel on their team.

Max has been putting together a video blog on the Revision Youtube Channel that contains some very good info. Most of the information is centered around competition shooting but it is also very applicable to those who train for self-defense or who are preparing for a training course. There is also a very interesting look behind the scenes of Revision HQ.

New and Improved RDK Carrier from Zulu Nylon Gear

Zulu Nylon Gear continues to impress with the latest improvements to their blow out pouch, the RDK Carrier. This pouch is specifically designed to carry the RSKTKR Down Kit but it should work well with your own blow out kit.

The RDK Carrier has some really slick features that make it stand out. The most noticeable is the very large elastic loop on the face of the pouch that is used to secure a tourniquet (TQ) like the SOFTT. Few blow out pouches from other makers provide a place to lash a TQ, if there are any provisions at all. The RDK Carrier’s TQ carrier has a ton of surface area that should make carrying and accessing your TQ a snap.

Pouches designed to carry life saving medical gear cannot be a success unless they are very accessible. The RDK Carrier has an innovative pull tab that can be pulled to open the pouch with one hand. It can be folded down and secured with hook and loop when not in use. The bright color ensures that the pouch is visible and that someone else can easily identify your blow out pouch.

These are features that you won’t find on any other pouch. Joel at Zulu Nylon Gear continues to apply his eye for innovation to pieces of gear that were basically all alike from one maker to the next. What will he re-invent next?

Check out the RDK Carrier on the Zulu Nylon Gear website.

Revision Eyewear Sawfly

I have been searching for some new shooting glasses that will work better with my hearing protection. My search brought the Revision Eyewear Sawfly Eyewear System to my attention.

The “comms-compatible” arms are the most useful feature of the Sawfly for me. They are very thin which allows ear muff style electronic hearing protection to seal over the arms. My current shooting glasses make the use of ear muff style hearing protection difficult due to the thickness of the arms. The Sawfly should solve that problem.

They also offer multiple sizes to ensure a comfortable, distortion-free fit. When shooting glasses are too small for your head they flex which can cause distortion in the lenses. You can only shoot as well as you can see so distortion is a bad thing. I wish more eyewear manufacturers would follow Revision Eyewear’s lead and offer different sizes.

The Sawfly also features excellent impact resistance, generous side coverage, a retention band that actually snaps into the arms, and a variety of lens colors that can be easily swapped into the frame. With all these features and the modular lenses, you can see why Revision calls this an eyewear “system“.

Keep an eye out for a full review on the Sawfly coming soon.
