One of the common issues with laser cut IR patches is that the laser cut layer can begin to separate and peel over time. This is especially true at the corners. Perroz Designs just introduced their Gen 3 IR Patches that use a folded edge to secure the edges and corners. This new edge treatment prevents the laser cut Cordura layers from delaminating from the luminous material layer below which in turns makes for a more durable patch.

My all time favorite low-profile patch is back in production. These Jed Eckert & Associates patches have been out of production for several years. The original was embroidered but now they are back in a PVC format. If you wear this patch on your EDC bag and someone notices it, they can probably be your friend.

I wrote about this patch (and it’s embroidered older brother) almost 3 years ago and it has been sold out just as long. That original post still sees traffic to this day and receive an email once in a while asking where to get them. There is obviously still a demand for this attractive and poetic patch.

Have you seen the Can’t Even patch from ENDO Apparel? Now you have and, if you are being honest with yourself, you kind of want one.
There are a lot of patch mat options now and most of them fit in the same mold. ITS Tactical’s new Modular Morale System is very unique among them for a number of reasons.
The panels consist of UBL soft loop fabric wrapped over 3/16″ foam on a HDPE backer. This allows it to accept both hook backed patches and push pins for mounting patches without hook backing. Each 12″ by 18″ panel has the soft UBL material wrapped all the way around to a border on the back which allows the panels to be mounted with the included adhesive Velcro strips (you can stable the Velcro strips to the wall for a less permanent installation).
These panels hold their shape better than most panels thanks to their HDPE backers. This allows them to be mounted together neatly and seamlessly to create large panel installations.
