Gorilla Ammunition Releasing New Line of Self Defense Ammunition

I have been very pleased with the Gorilla Ammo products that I have used though my sample size is admittedly small. Their 77gr Sierra Matchking load has shot very well for me. Now they have announced that they are moving into the high end self-defense ammo market with a selection of solid copper projectile based offerings.

The development of solid copper projectiles has lead to major advancements in terminal ballistics. It is nice to see more companies coming online with options like these.

“The entire Gorilla Ammunition team has worked tremendously hard over the past few months developing and refining this product line. It’s been our mission to be on the leading edge of 300 Blackout and now with the Silverback line we offer a 300 Blackout subsonic cartridge that expands and creates terminal performance on game that is tremendous. I am really excited to see how the consumers respond to the introduction of this new ammunition technology.” said Gorilla Ammunition’s Director of Sales & Marketing, Jay Duncan

Sentinel Design Glock Magwells are Back Thanks to Raven Concealment

I have been a long time user and fan of Sentinel Design’s Glock Magwell. Sentinel Design came out with their magwell for the Glock 17 a few years ago and began talking about a Glock 19 version not long after. The G19 version didn’t happen and eventually even the G17 magwells became hard to find which is a shame because they were an excellent product (see our review).

FREYA Mag Well

It has been announced at SHOT Show that the Sentinel Design Magwells will go back into production, this time under the FREYA product line produced by Raven Concealment Systems. The FREYA Magazine Well for Glocks will be available for the Gen3 G17 like the original and a new Gen4 G17 version will be produced. Perhaps the most exciting development is that the FREYA Magazine Well is already in production for the G19 (both Gen3 and Gen4) with additional models coming soon.

Austere Provisions Company already has a active pre-order pages for the Gen3 G19 and Gen4 G19 versions of the FREYA Magazine Well.

PHLster Flatpack TQ Carrier

The new Flatpack TQ Carrier from PHLster is designed to make it as easy as possible to carry a full size tourniquet like the SOFT-T-Wide or CAT. It features a kydex backplate and a clever shockcord design that compresses the tourniquet into a compact, flat package. The shockcord is easily user adjustable for tension and can be released quickly to free the TQ for use (see the video below). Each Flatpack TQ Carrier comes with soft loops attached for a variety of carrying options and a piece of hook Velcro that can be adhered to the back for even more carry options.

The Flatpack TQ Carrier will be available by the end of this month at SnakeHoundMachine.com.

Magpul DAKA Pouches

One of the coolest things about watching Magpul is that their big ideas have never been limited to just firearms and related accessories. The new DAKA Pouches are a prime example. On one hand, it would be easy to write them off as just a zippered pouch not unlike the ones you used to store your pencils inside your Trapper Keeper. On the other, there is a level of refinement and innovation built into this pouch that assures us that Magpul is still Magpul even as they venture further and further from firearms.

Check out all three sizes of the DAKA Pouches at Magpul.

From Magpul:
