The Ares Gear Aegis belt is already pretty awesome thanks in large part to their custom buckle that provides very fine adjustment and a more casual, less gun-toter look. Well, it just became a little bit more awesome now that it is available with a Melonite processed buckle! This should serve as a very durable way to darken the appearance of the buckle for a lower profile look.

May 1, 2014 – Telluric Group, LLC. completed delivery of Small Arms Collimator (SAC) Kits to the US Army for inclusion in the Advanced Sniper Accessory Kit (ASAK). The SAC Kits, referred to by the Army as Sniper Weapon Collimators (SWC), were designed for use with the M110 Semi-Automatic Sniper System (SASS) and the M2010 Enhanced Sniper Rifle (ESR). They also work with legacy M24 sniper rifles.
The collimators were chosen by the Army as a no-comparison solution for two reasons. First, they speed up the initial live-fire zero process for weapons that have not yet been zeroed (i.e. during sniper training). Second, and most critically, they allow deployed snipers to accurately check zero in any environment without live-fire. “Going into the fight with a good zero is critically important,” said Brian Garrett of Telluric Group. “The SAC allows snipers to confirm zero quickly anytime, anywhere- before they leave the FOB [forward operating base], after movement across rough terrain, or even at their final firing position.” By ensuring that weapons are always zeroed, SACs have improved Soldiers’ confidence in their weapons and continue to enhance operational effectiveness.

Chinook Medical just unveiled their new TMK-IFAK, a modular blow out kit pouch with seemingly endless features. The TMK-IFAK pouch consists of 2 main components, the insert and the pouch, that can be used separately as stand-alone items or used together as a functional unit.
The TMK-IFAK insert is not unlike similar inserts that are already on the market. It is a clam-shell folding platform with various elastic loops to be used to retain and organize your IFAK contents. Chinook Medical took care to design the elastic organization so that items could be removed without disrupting other items. It is designed to be used with the TMK-IFAK pouch or alone and inserted in most double M4 magazine pouches.
The TMK-IFAK pouch is a tall slender pouch that requires only 2 columns of PALS webbing to mount. The exterior of the pouch features PALS webbing on the sides and 3″ elastic tourniquet retainer on the bottom. The interior of the pouch features a wide webbing strap that functions as a lifter for pulling out the contents of the pouch and a leash for the insert.
Both the TMK-IFAK pouch and insert are available separately. They are also available to be purchased together with or without contents.

Even with the supplies of surplus 5.45 drying up, steel-cased commerical ammo will continue to be available and the cartridge is better suited to the AR platform than 7.62×39. So, if you are the type who wants an AR-15 chambered in one of the inexpensive Russian calibers, this could be a great option.
