Reloading from Esstac’s KYWI magazine pouches is very fast. Reloading from a horizontal magazine pouch can be fast. So… reloading from a horizontal KYWI will likely break (or at least tamper with) the laws of physics.
Esstac recently shared an image of a micro chest rig they are testing that features 2 horizontal 5.56 KYWIs paired with 2 vertical pistol KYWIs. The rig may see production if there is enough interest.
Armageddon Gear’s Ultralight Shooting Mat is just what it sounds like. A lot of shooting mats are large padded affairs that will only ever be used on the range due to their too large size when rolled and heavy weight. The Ultralight Shooting Mat is a field usable mat that corrects those problems.
The Ultralight Shooting Mat is made from 500D Cordura so it is durable and lightweight. It has a coffin shape with thin closed-cell foam padding on the parts where your chest and shoulders would be to prevent moisture from wicking through and provide a bit of comfort. It weighs about 1.5 pounds and rolls up to about as small as a backpacking sleeping bag. This is a shooting pad made to be used on the move.

I’ve been using a Brute Force Training sandbag with great success this summer and I highly recommend them. The area where I live has been part of an active effort to expand Grizzly Bear habitat and it has been working. They’re here and their numbers are only increasing. That simultaneously warms my heart and sends a chill down my spine. This 2 day bear defense training course is a course all men and women who enjoy the outdoors should experience. Whether you are hiking in the backcountry with friends or elk hunting alone this fall, there is a chance of running into a Grizzly. Most people carry bear spray and a “Bear Gun” in the woods, but have very little confidence with these weapons, because they haven’t trained enough. Training develops confidence.
Day 1 of of this course will be 6 hours of strictly handgun training. Day 2 will consist of bear and bear spray knowledge. We will have a live Grizzly Bear at the training! This will give everyone an opportunity to get up close and personal with a real bear. You will train with inert Bear Spray training cans and firearms. You will practice drawing from a holster against unexpected moving targets with added stress from TACTIC Instructors. At the end of this training you will have learned about bears and their tendencies, trained with inert training cans of bear spray, and put 600 rounds through your designated bear gun.
If you spend time in areas where big brown bears roam, this could be a worthwhile skill check for you. There happens to be a course scheduled this coming weekend.
