Titan Tactical Innovations – Elastic Tourniquet Holder

Think back to what you were doing when you were 17. It probably wasn’t running your own small business with a product already placed at one of the most respected retailers in your market. That’s the story with Titan Tactical Innovations (TTI) – run by a 17 year old and already placing product at OP Tactical.

TTI’s Elastic Tourniquet Holder is designed to allow the user to attach a tourniquet holder to almost any plate carrier via the hook and loop closures commonly found on the cummerbund. This simple attachment method allows for the TQ to be placed a number of different ways. It may also be useful on the backs of some chest rigs meant to dock on a plate carrier or anywhere else you can manage to secure the holder.

The TTI Elastic Tourniquet Holder is available at OP Tactical. You can learn more about TTI at TitanTacticalInnovations.com.

SCALARWORKS LAUNCHES AIMPOINT MICRO MOUNT FOR BENELLI TACTICAL SHOTGUNS.

Easton, PA – April 11, 2017 – Scalarworks, manufacturer of high-performance firearm accessories, is pleased to introduce the Sync mount for Aimpoint Micro sights. The Sync is a low-profile optic mount that features an integral platform for the Aimpoint Micro line of red dot sights – as well as Micro compatible clones.

The Sync allows an Aimpoint Micro sight to be co-witnessed without obstructing one’s sight picture, and is the only optic mount for shotguns to be attached with 4 screws, thanks to our proprietary key-slot internal mounting system (Patent pending). The Sync is CNC milled from ultra high-strength 7075-T6 Hard coat anodized Aluminum, and weighs a mere 0.69oz (including custom CNC turned fasteners).

The EDC Tool Roll: Maxpedition Micro Pocket Organizer

The EDC Tool Roll is a feature on Jerking the Trigger in which we profile various every day carry worthy tools. The tools shown aren’t multi-tools but rather real tools, that by virtue of their compact size, light weight, usefulness, or unique functionality, can find a place in any range kit, emergency kit, or every day carry bag.

Feel free to comment on the tools that you carry so we can all learn! The discussion on these posts has been very valuable so far.

As much as I prefer the Triple 7 Gear line of pocket organizers, their availability has been a intermittent and several of you have asked for alternatives. Maxpedition seemed like the easy choice with their long history of EDC organizers and it turns out that they offer one of the only other truly pocketable pocket organizers on the market… which is kind of ironic. I don’t know who has pockets large enough to fit some of the so-called “pocket” organizers out there but it isn’t me.

The Maxpedition Micro Pocket Organizer is the smallest (5.5″ x 3.5″ x 1″) in their extensive line of pocket organizers and it is completely sufficient for me. The pouch has a clamshell design that is closed with a perimeter zipper. The front exterior of the pouch has a mesh slip pocket and the rear has a small grab handle. The interior of the pouch has 5 elastic loops, a slip pocket on each side, and a small loop for attaching a lanyard.

The quality is typical Maxpedition so it should last a long time. I prefer this organizer to others in their line due to its small size and because it isn’t festooned with belt loops and PALS webbing that I will never use. It’s the simplest and most compact they offer, which is exactly why I prefer it.

Where to Buy: Maxpedition products are available all over the place. If you local gun store carries them, buy there. They can probably use the business these day! If not, Amazon is a good stand by: Maxpedition Micro Pocket Organizer on Amazon

Alternatives: My favorite pocket organizer is the Triple 7 Gear Micro Kit which is great, made in the USA gear, if you can catch them in stock. Maxpedition also makes the Mini Pocket Organizer and EDC Pocket Organizer that might still fit in some pockets. They are larger than the Micro but offer more organization features.

If you have an organizer, tool roll, or other tool that you can recommend, tell us about it below. The comments have been a valuable source of information in this series.

Sneak Peek: Forward Control Designs ABC/R v2

Forward Controls Design is working on a new version of their Augmented Bolt Catch/Release (ABC/R). The new ABC/R v2 will feature a thinner, tapered upper paddle instead of the lightening cuts found on the original ABR/R.

This change will cut weight where it counts the most on a bolt catch. Before someone pitches a hissy fit about how lightweight AR accessories are out of control… It is important to keep any additional weight on the bolt catch to minimum. Additional weight on the paddle can cause reliability issues like the bolt locking back before the magazine is empty. I’ve seen these malfunctions caused by a number of aftermarket products that attach to the bolt release.
