SAR Global Tool ODDjob

If you have seen a picture of the SAR Global Tool owner Spencer Reiter recently, chances are you noticed a slick little fixed blade on his belt. He has been carrying and refining the design for a long time now. The knife that we now know as the ODDjob is finally ready for public consumption.

The ODDjob is a compact, EDC worthy, 5″ fixed blade knife that can be carried on the user’s neck, belt, or wherever else you can stash it. It is hand ground from 1/4″ thick CPMD2 steel that has been hardened to HRc 59-60. The sheath is molded from Kydex and it features an adjustable lanyard.

Check out the clever lanyard that the ODDjob sports! It is a short section of paracord that is reinforced so that it is always open in a loop shape. The loop makes it easy to withdraw the knife from the sheath and retain the knife when you are working with it.

The ODDjob is available at SARGlobalTool.com.

Behind the Scenes at Warrior Trail

Warrior Trail gave us a peak behind the curtain. This very cool series of photos shows their training plate production process. It’s kind of like the crayon factory episode of Mister Rogers’ Neighborhood but more tactical…

The production starts here where 100% recycled PVC, in powder form, goes into the hopper.

Warrior Trail Production 1

The PVC comes out of the extruder in a ribbon that is very hot. It is partially cooled with a water bath.

Warrior Trail Production 2

The PVC ribbon goes through a roller to compress it to the proper dimensions. It is still warm and flexible when it comes out of the roller.

Warrior Trail Production 3

It can take a while to reach a consistent quality from the roller. These rejected ribbons will be ground up and fed back into the hopper.

Warrior Trail Production 4

The ribbons are cut to length.

The corners are clipped and the bi-curve shape is applied.Warrior Trail Production 6

The plates are cooled in a water bath before having their sharp edges removed and their iconic hole drilled.

MFT BATTLELINK Minimalist Paracord Mod

MFT BATTLELINK Minimalist paracor mod

Some people have expressed concern that the hooked shape of the newly released BATTLELINK Minimalist Stock from Mission First Tactical (MFT) could pose a snag hazard. Some enterprising users have found a way to prevent any potential snags and keep some emergency paracord on hand. MFT will be offering these paracord straps as an accessory or you can make your own.

Check out the BATTLELINK Minimalist Stock at Mission First Tactical. I have one of these stocks inbound for review so stay tuned.
