PWS MK1 Mod1 Piston System Video

M114RA1B_L_1I will admit that I really don’t care for gas piston AR-15s… but I love seeing how things work! I wish more manufacturers would make informational product videos like this new one from PWS that details their MK1 Mod1 Piston System. It utilizes a cutaway version of a PWS carbine to great effect. This type of well presented information is educational, engaging, and impressive.

ESEE Izula-II – Deal of the Week at BladeHQ

Blade HQ Izula-II DOTW

The ESEE Izula-II with accessory kit is the Deal of the Week at BladeHQ. I haven’t reviewed the Izula-II but I probably should because I own a few of them that I use for a number of different purposes. These knives make great EDC fixed blades, they are right at home mounted to a battle belt or plate carrier, and they are all the knife you need to dress out game as large as a whitetail deer (and maybe larger). The Izula-II can do just about everything well.

Fortis REV Free Float Rail System – 9

The Fortis Manufacturing REV Free Float Rail System has been making waves thanks to its very light weight, unique one piece design, and mix of KeyMod and 1913 rail compatibility. Fortis initially released the 12″ version, then a 14″ version, and now they have just introduced a 9″ version. The new 9″ REV Rail weighs an impressive 7.9 ounces!

REV-9-A-640x480

Like the previous versions of the REV Rail, this one is made in the USA from 6061-T6 aluminum that is hard anodized. It has KeyMod attachment points on the central portions of 3 and 9 o’clock rails. The REV Rail also has 1913 rails on the 12 and 6 o’clock rails and the forward portions of the 3 and 9 o’clock rails. The REV Rail attaches via the standard AR-15 barrel nut and has anti-rotation tabs.

New Finish Option for the FOSSA-556

FOSSA-556 White Sound Defense

I recently reviewed the FOSSA-556 – a muzzle climb reducing flash suppressor from White Sound Defense (WSD). WSD is known for using premium materials and finishes on their gear and the original FOSSA-556 is no exception. It is made from 17-4PH stainless steel with a titanium aluminum nitride surface coating. Those materials and finishes can really add a lot of durability and functionality to their product but they can also add cost which is why WSD is now introducing the FOSSA-556 with a simple black oxide finish at a lower price.

You can pick up both versions of the FOSSA-556 at CPWSA.com.
