JAVRAN Challenge Coin Book

If you have challenge coins that you want to organize and protect, you will want to read on. JAVRAN has recently shown a series of photos of their upcoming Challenge Coin Book and it looks very, very slick.

The JAVRAN Challenge Coin Book holds 16 coins (4 pages that hold 4 coins each). It is constructed with 1/8″ closed cell foam to protect the coins. The front exterior of the book is covered with color matched loop material for displaying patches. There is a loop field on the interior for holding additional patches. There are also two small slip pockets that can be used to hold small, flat items like business cards.

Every one of my carbines has an H buffer (or heavier in some cases). Simply put, adding some weight to the cycling mass in your AR-15 can smooth the recoil pulse and increase the reliability of your carbine.

It is unique because it is filled with powdered tungsten instead of steel and tungsten weights as you would find in a typical H buffer. Some claim that the use of powdered tungsten further smooths the recoil pulse. Oh, and if you didn’t notice… it is bright red!

Assembling a CAV-15 MKII Lower Receiver

Russell Phagan, who is what you might call a CAV-15 MKII expert thanks to his many years of experience at the original manufacturer of the CAV-15 Lower Receiver (Cavalry Arms), just completed a video that walks you through the assembly of a CAV-15 MKII receiver. I know several of you have purchased the newer GWACS Armory manufactured CAV-15 MKIIs and are likely ready to start adding your lower parts. There are a few nuances that you should be aware of when assembling these receivers which Russell covers well in this video.
